Electrifying, a bright burst that compels you to move forward,
Like a powerful rush of adrenaline after being called a coward.
Power surges through you and gives you what you need to move on,
You get it after eating a hearty meal or from the excitement of a bon-bon!
It keeps you moving, providing energy to do the things you need to do,
Helps you combat sickness and keeps you going even if you have the flu.
With energy, you feel better, more enthusiastic and powerful,
Just an occasional sudden spark is enough to make life beautiful.
But like most things in life, we require energy and electricity,
We need it to recharge and get energised as it is a necessity.
Sometimes to combat our need for sleep we consume coffee which has caffeine,
Which makes you stay up late so the next day you are grouchy and mean.
So when you get the chance you should enjoy some peaceful sleep,
Though you should do as I say but not as I do, because I stay up late and end up counting sheep!
