Chapter 3

Gabbie's POV:
I waited outside the door. Usually I'm impatient with everyone I meet, I'd always wait for Josh though, always, forever.

Some guys walked towards me, the guys from the lesson that moved places for me; Matt, Ian and Mike I think.

"Hey, my name's Matt, you're Gabbie right?"
"Yeah, thanks for moving for me by the way."

They walked further towards me. Matt looked to be the leader as Ian and Mike stayed behind him, smirking.

He stopped walking towards me, inches from my face, I was pinned to the wall behind me. I started to panic now. he pushed me into the wall as he leaned on me.

"Listen, this school ain't a nice place. a pretty girl like you needs to be careful. if you stick with us then you'll be okay."

I was still pinned against the wall with him still leaning on me now centre meters from his nose touching mine.

Why would I want to stick around a guy who is cornering me and is making me extremely uncomfortable to say the least?"

He pushed himself off me, turned around and nodded to Ian and Mike. The two of them came over and grabbed both of my arms.

"What the hell are you doing! Get off me now!"

Matt turned back round. He kneed me in the stomach and I fell to the floor, clutching my stomach in agony.

"That's why you'd want to hang out with us. Mean people, some people. You made me do that."

He crouched down next to me and pulled me up to a sitting position by my hand like it never happened. He kissed me forcefully, I didn't kiss back, which was a big mistake. He slapped me across the cheek.

"You do what I tell you to, okay?"

He brushed my fringe to the side and looked at me for a few seconds apologetically. He kissed me again; he threatened me, kneed me in the stomach and slapped me across the face, but despite all this, I still kissed back. I was scared, scared of what he was going to do to me if I didn't do everything he wanted me to. Besides, he wasn't that bad, he was quite sweet, after he abused me, he was quite cute as well, I guess.

He stood up and walked away, Ian and Mike following behind.

Josh walked out to see me still sitting on the floor.

"Get tired then, decided to have a sit down? Hey, what happened to your face, it's red?"
"Oh, I just rubbed it a bit, that's all."

I decided not to tell Josh about everything. He's done too much for me already.

Josh's POV:
I was slightly confused to see Gabbie sat on the floor, I was also worried too, she looked dazed and a little shocked. it was probably nothing. I laughed it off and held my arm out to help her up.

"Are you a good guide? I need a tour of the school."
"Let's find out." I smiled and he laughed "I'm sure I won't get too complicated, it's only a tour."

We walked slowly around school, it was break so it didn't matter. I showed her around maths, computer, science, English and all the other class blocks except one, I was saving that for last. I knew what I was going to do, the thing that I did the best.

"So what's your fave subject?" I asked
"Uh, art, no! Music, no! I don't know."

She's so cute, I couldn't resist her.
"What about you?" She asked

Just as she asked, we arrived at my favourite classroom.

"Well?"
I said nothing as I held the door open for her. She stepped through and gasped. I knew the from was amazing, it was decorated with fairy lights all over the black walls, guitars, and every instrument you could think of was scattered around the room, some hung on the walls. My favourite lesson, music.

I grabbed her hand and lead her to a chair in the middle of the room.

"I get it now, this is your favourite lesson. I think it could actually be mine too, definitely after this."
I laughed "You wanna hear a song I wrote?"

She nodded eagerly. I took a guitar from behind me and started playing.

"When your tears are spent on your last pretense,
And your tired eyes refuse to close and sleep in your defense
When it's in your spine like you've walked for miles
And the only thing you want is just to be still for a while..."

After a bit I finished the song and looked at Gabbie, she was smiling but had tears in her eyes.

"You wrote that?" I nodded "It was amazing... you were amazing."

It was our chance, we were alone. I walked over to her and sat down next to her. she looked at me, I knew what she was thinking, but I wasn't scared I leaned closer...
