Alexa

School was a blur.

The events of that morning was still reeling in my mind. Jackson wanted me to stay at his place. I didn't know how to feel about that, but it's not like I could stay there for ever, now could I?

Oh, but a girl can wish. And trust me, right about now, I wish for that so fucking much.

But anyways, I went through school mindlessly, doing my work and listening to the teachers drone on and on boringly. Though, my uncle's class was a bit more lively; the perks of having a young teacher, I suppose.

At the end of the day, guess who was waiting by my locker? I'll give you a hint. It wasn't Jackson or Elliot or Michael, because I, of course, have terrible luck. And it wasn't Ryan, either, unfortunately, because like I said, my luck is horrible.

Ryder was leaning against my locker. I don't know where his back has been, and yet, he's against my locker and Blake probably told him that that was my locker, duh, so that could only mean that Ryder was unfortunately waiting for me.

Fucking fantastic. Just kill me.

Please.

As soon as I saw Ryder's stupid face, I inched away, no longer caring about getting to my locker. I could just get my backpack tomorrow. My backpack is not worth my life. Well, I still have a brownie that Michael gave me for lunch because I told him I didn't eat the school's lunch, and I was saving it, but I can't eat it if I die, right? But how good would it taste tomorrow? Well, I guess I didn't need that, but I did kind of want it.

Now that it matters now since Ryder just fucking glanced in my direction. He spotted me immediately and smirked. Of course. Bloody fantastic. Don't ask me why I said that since I'm not British, but whatever.

Oh no, he's walking over to me. I'm about to die. Oh no, oh no, oh no. WHY IS THERE HARDLY ANYBODY IN THE HALLWAY?! How convenient. For him, not for me. I'm about to be dead!

What did I do this time? Probably nothing, I mean, but Ryder doesn't need a reason, because he is an awful human being. The absolute worst. Just like my luck, come to think of it.

"Alexa, you know how long I've been waiting?" he asked in a deadly calm voice, his eyes narrowing.

Wait, wasn't he suspended? I forgot how long the suspension was supposed to last, and he wasn't in Mr. Haynes's class, though I previously learned that he skips quite frequently, so maybe that's why.

I shook my head. Against my better judgement, I say, "I just got here."

Ryder gritted his teeth. "Suddenly a smart ass, are you?" he questioned, clenching his fists.

"Thank you. I thought I was smart too," I said.

Crap. What the hell is wrong with me? Why can't I just shut up? It's like I'm asking to be fucking murdered...

Ryder balled up his fist, ready to punch me, but before he could, his wrist was grabbed. By Jackson, whom I didn't even notice was making his way over till just now. Yay!

Ryder turned his head to see Jackson glaring at him. "Let go of me right this instant," he demanded. "This isn't your business."

Jackson smirked. "Oh, but since she's going to be living with me for the time being, I think it is," he said.

"Wait, what—"

"Shouldn't be a problem, right?" Jackson questioned. "I mean, clearly she's just a 'burden' so I'll be doing you a huge favor, but there's no need to thank me."

"She is not living with you!" Ryder spat. "You hoping to get into her pants? Wow, Alexa, you that pathetic that you give yourself to the first guy that's nice to you?"

"We're twelve..." Jackson said. "Get your mind out of the gutter!"

I wasn't really sure on what to say. What Ryder was implying was.... sickening, to say the least. And it was quite hurtful, might I add.

"Well, I'm sure our parents wouldn't allow this," Ryder said, a smirk appearing on his face.

But Jackson wasn't fazed. "Doubtful," he said. "I'm sure her sperm donor wouldn't care."

A chuckle escaped me.

Ryder turned to me. "Well, what about Cameron?" he questioned. "For some reason, he likes you. He might be sad if you just left like that!" Okay, is he seriously trying to guilt trip me? It's not like I care in the slightest.... "And you don't have any clothes, you know."

Jackson groaned. "Can you just leave? We'll figure something out," he claimed. "Bye, Ryder."

Ryder huffed, glaring  between Jackson and me. Then, he stalked off.

"So, let's go...." Jackson grinned. "Michael and Elliot already went home. They had to ride the bus today so it's not like they had a choice."

I smiled. "Thank you.... for letting me stay, and all..."

"Don't mention it, kid," he said, ruffling my hair. "Come on."

"What's going on over here?"

I turned around and saw Ryan staring suspiciously between us.

"Hi, Ry—Mr. Haynes." I smiled.

"Yeah, hey..." Jackson said. "Whatever if it, I didn't do it, I swear!"

Mr. Haynes and I just gave him 'what the fuck' looks. Jackson merely shrugged sheepishly.

"Right," Mr. Haynes said, eyeballing Jackson, who inches behind me. "Well, Miss. Hart, have a eventful — but not too eventful — evening. Other kid, yeah, you too. But not too eventful."

"Really gotta get that point across?" Jackson muttered in my ear.

"Thanks, Mr. Haynes," I say. "You too. But not too eventful," I joked.

Mr. Haynes chuckled. "Well, bye..." He walked away.

"Are you sure he's not a pedophile?" Jackson questioned. "He is really giving me those vibes."

"He's not," I say. "Actually, he's my uncle."

"What...." Jackson stares blankly at me.

I chuckled and started explaining everything, as we walked out of the school, and to Jackson's house.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S YOUR UNCLE!" Jackson calls after me.
