Harry and I walked up to the front door of Louis' house, wondering what was so urgent, until we saw Zayn answering the door.
"Zayn?" Harry immediately wrapped an arm around me and pulled me towards him.
"I'm not here to ruin your lives, please, just hear me out."
Harry kept his protective grip on me as we walked into Louis' house. Lou and Liam were seated on the couch, giggling with each other about something.
"Hey," Harry greeted Louis and Liam, who waved back.
"So," Zayn started, "Congrats on the engagement."
"Thank you," Harry said for both of us, "I still don't understand why you're--"
"I'm sorry," Zayn sighed, "Really I am, what I did to you guys was terrible and I can't help but feel immensely guilty every time I hear your names somewhere."
Harry removes his arm and holds my hand, and I can't help but smile.
I was right; things are really looking up.
