🕖Unusual Friend

"You're her friend?" He nodded and smiled. "And you're dead?"

"All of us are. I've been dead for eight years already." He smiled again. Is he happy about this? "I got into a car accident. I suddenly couldn't move and the car hit me. Now I'm a ghost."

My brother reincarnated as one of her friends.. And I killed him. You're such an idiot, Taehyung! "Hyung- I mean, Baekhyun.. How did you know her?"

"I believe she already told you. I'm the son of one of the employees of her company. The one who looked a lot like you?"

You're my brother, of course I look like you. "Yeah, I remember."

"You know? I've been watching the both of you. I actually saw you lay her down near that trashcan. Why would you think she belonged there?"

"'Cause that's how I see her."

"Taehyung.. Let me tell you something about Jennie. She's not all bad. She wasn't a flirt. She hates drinking and clubs. She hates wearing those revealing clothes. She's not moody. She's a fan of writing letters. But as the people she loves start to leave, she changes. We didn't know why all of us died. We didn't know why she had to go through this. Jennie didn't deserve this. She was the kindest person I know. I hate to see her change like that. If I was just alive, I'll probably ask her to marry me."

"Hyung- Baekhyun.. Why would you do that? You didn't like her, did you?"

"Who wouldn't like her? Let's just say, I was around ten when I saw her. She's really pretty and I loved her soft voice. But one thing really made me like her and it's her personality. She always comes to see me and we'd talk to each other. She even bought me an ice cream once 'cause I haven't ate breakfast. Jennie's really kind, Taehyung. She's a ball of sunlight."

"Why are you telling me things about her?"

"I feel like you hate her that much and I thought telling you what she really was would help. She does look fierce but she's really not. Tell you what. I think she's actually crying in that room, right now."

I stood up and went back to her room. She's really crying. "Jennie." She turned to me and wiped her tears.

"Oh hi. I was just.. Haha.. I'm having a staring contest with a cat outside. She won." She kept wiping her tears. "You got my ice cream!"

I sat beside her and handed her the ice cream. "You miss them, don't you?" She stopped opening it and looked at me. "Your friends?"

"Yeah.. I always wish they were with me during these hard times. They know what to do. I would look like a crazy bitch who's crying and at the same time laughing. It's just.. Sad. Being alone.."

"I'm sorry." I made her suffer like this. If what Baekhyun were saying were true.. If she really was a good person and I was just dumb and inconsiderate enough to ruin her innocent life, I don't know if I deserve that second chance the creator is giving me.

"Yah. Stop saying sorry. At least you're here with me. I have a reason why I should continue to live."

"And that is?"

"You." I glared at her. "I'm serious." She opened her ice cream and ate a scoop. "My grandma used to tell me a story. It's about something that controls life and death. I don't believe her but it's a nice story."

"About what?"

"Time." I suddenly felt nervous. Does her grandma know that Time is a person? She knows about, me?

"W-what about it?"

"I hate him." I looked at her and saw anger in her eyes. "Grandma said Time is a person, and that person is a He. He lives in the time realm and he decides if something or someone should die or not."

"Where did she get something like that?"

"I don't know. Maybe it's just a made up story. But this person, according to her, is being punished. She said, he was a normal human but he meddled with time. That's how he became that ruthless being."

How did her grandma know about this? Is her made up story just a coincidence or she really knows something?

"I despise him. I'm not saying I really believe her story but if that was true.. I want to kill that asshole who took everyone from me. I don't care about his reasons. He made me suffer for years. People hate me and they stay away because they're scared they'll die just like the others. I always hear them say that I'm such a bad luck. I was living fine, but he just had to ruin everything."

"M-maybe you did something in your past life to him? What if.. You we're the reason why he was punished like that?"

"That's not a good reason. I'm not that person! She was something from the past that I don't even know. I might be a bad person in my previous lives but why does he have to blame it on me? I don't even know why I did that crap! I'm completely innocent about it and he's punishing me for something I didn't do."

"I-It was just a 'what if'."

"Yeah.. Thanks for bringing me my food." She smiled and continued eating ice cream on this cold weather.

I turned to the door and saw Baekhyun. "Just a second." I walked towards him. "Let's talk outside." I whispered.

We sat on the couch. I need to tell him that I'm Time. I'm gonna need his help. "I already know. You're that person she hates."
