Jacen's POV.
Jacen walked Analisia to her room. The whole way she was extremely quiet. That was unusual. He had missed her so much he only wished to hear her voice and kiss her. As soon as he opened the door to her room he set down her luggage and closed the door.
He caught her wrist and pulled her to him. "Oh, Lisia, I missed you so much." He began to kiss her neck as they embraced.
She did not respond.
"Lisia?" He pulled away realizing how stiff she was.
Her voice was low when she spoke. "She's pregnant."
"What?" He asked, until he realized who 'she' was. "Oh yes. You mean Master Starlight. I know. Isn't it wonderful. They've been wanting to start a family for a long time."
"Wonderful?!" She pushed away from him in what seemed to be anger.
He could only stare at her in shock. "Yes. Wonderful. They've been wanting this for so long. I'm happy for them."
He watched as she paced back and forth. "Annalisia what's wrong?"
"Everything! Can you not see? Everything will be ruined! Everything that we-"
Suddenly she stopped. Her face turned from rage and panic to one of calm and kindness. "I'm sorry. Of course it's wonderful. We should be happy for them. I guess I just. . ." She looked down sadly.
He stepped forward and touched her hand. "You just what?"
"Envy them."
Jacen couldn't help but smile. "Envy them?"
She nodded. "When I saw how happy they were I guess I became angry because I fear I won't get what they have."
Jacen's heart warmed and he placed his hand on her cheek. "Lisia, you don't have to worry about that. I will marry you one day. I promise."
A tear ran down her cheek. It broke his heart to see her hurt.
"And when will that day be? We've been courting for so long. Jacen, all I want is to be with you. To be your wife. To have a family. I don't know how much longer I can wait."
Panic arose in his chest. "Just a little longer, dear. I want to marry you. I do, but the temple needs me. Especially now. With master Raina expecting, they will need someone to help run things. And before I can ask you I must ask your father and my masters."
She rolled her eyes and brushed him away. "You're just making excuses. You don't want to marry me. No Jedi ever what's to get married. All they can think about is their role. Why can't you be selfish for once? I love you more than my life. Why can't we be happy? You could be my prince and one day even king. A Jedi king. A wise, powerful and kind ruler. Why give all that up?"
"Lisia. . ."
"Jacen, if you don't marry me. . .I don't know if I'll be able to go on."
"What? Lisia, don't talk that way." He pleaded reaching for her, but she pulled away.
"No. It's true. I'm desperately in love with you and it's your fault. I never should have let myself fall in love with a Jedi, but I did. It will be my destruction."
"No! Lisia, I love you. You have to believe me."
She turned away from him crying. "I don't. If you will not fight for us then you cannot love me."
"Then I will!"
Lisia's shoulders quivered. He stepped forward and held them. "If that is what you really want and if that is what it will take to prove my love. To get married. Then. . .we will."
