Raina's POV.
A meal and few dances later, Raina and Luke found themselves walking quietly along the beach. Their hands were intertwined as she lay her head against his shoulder. They walked at a lazy pace and looked out onto the lake. One of the planets moons were already hanging in the night sky and the stars sparkled brightly above them.
Raina couldn't help, but wish they could stay at the lake house forever. With no one around. Just the two of them. No duties, no New Republic to worry about and no Temple to watch over.
Just as the thought entered her mind she shoved it out. No. Her duties as a Jedi were the most fulfilling part of her life. It made her complete. It was fine to wish to be alone with Luke longer, but to say she wished not to bothered by her duties as Jedi. That was another thing all together.
As she was thinking about this she felt a strong feeling from Luke. He was concerned and nervous. Something was on his mind. She looked up at her husband to see that her readings were correct. His eye-brows were furrowed and his forehead creased while he stared ahead in deep thought.
Suddenly Luke seemed to feel his wife's gaze on him and he drew his attention to her.
A grin stretched across his lips. "What? What is it?"
She shook her head, closing her eyes briefly before looking back up at him. "N-Nothing. It's just-what were you thinking about?"
As soon as the question escaped her lips Luke's smile faded. A surprised and somewhat guarded expression came over his face.
Looking everywhere but her, he spoke. "Oh um. . .its uh. . .nothing really. . .I uh-"
Raina again, searched his feelings and found that the guarded emotion was being fueled by embarrassment, nervousness, doubt and worry.
"Luke."
"Yeah?"
"Is there something you want to tell me?" She asked with a smirk, finding his nervousness somewhat endearing.
He looked away towards the water briefly, before looking back at her in defeat. Luke opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Looking down he stared at the sand and sighed. Obviously trying to find his words.
Finally he spoke, but carefully. "There is something I've wanted to talk to you about."
"What is it?"
His eyes finally met hers. They were full of concern. He looked back at the ground, his eyes focused on the same spot as before. Finally after closing his eyes for a moment, he turned to her and gently held her arms.
"Raina,. . ." He began, but stopped.
"Yes?" She smiled softly.
He breathed a frustrated laugh.
"You know you can tell me anything, right? You don't need to feel so. . .nervous."
Luke gave a nod. "I know. I don't know why I'm having so much trouble talking to you. It's like I can't put my thoughts into words."
"Then don't."
Staring at her momentarily, Luke seemed to realize what she meant. A loving and admiring smile spread across his lips. Leaning down, he cupped her cheek with his left hand and kissed her.
As soon as their lips met Luke completely opened his mind up to Raina. Immediately everything disappeared around them. The only thing left was a surge of thoughts and memories flooding her mind. Luke's thoughts and memories.
