- Pre-Force Awakens.
Luke and Raina had finally married. They finally got their happy ending. No fears. No worries. They were prepared to face the future, together, head on along with whatever life threw at them, . . .
but...
The next morning Raina and Luke traveled down to Otoh Gunga in a Naboo submarine. When they got to the village Luke, in particular, was amazed. Being from a desert planet, he had never imagined a whole city under water. It was beautiful.

The submarine entered one of the gel-like domes with ease. They Botha stepped out and we're met by two Gungans.
Luke stepped forward. "Greetings. I am Master Luke Skywalker and this is my wife Master Raina Starlight. We have come to seek a council with your Boss."
One of the Gungans looked at them in excitement. "Masters?! Yousa Jedi Masters?"
Luke gave a nod as Raina smiled. "We are."
Both the Gungans jumped up and down happily. "Jedi?! Yousa Jedi! Yippee! Come! Come! Boss Towa will be wui smilin' to see yousa!"
The two Gungans led the Jedi through the village and to the conference dome. The Gungans stepped in and introduced the two.
Raina and Luke stepped forward and gave a respectful bow. "Mesa greetings, Jedi. It has been longo time since wesa seen great Jedi!"
Boss Towa welcomed them. "What do yousa need?"
Luke looked at Raina who gave him an encouraging nod.
Clearing his throat, he began. "We beg an audience with you."
Boss Towa nodded. "Yousa have it."
"We are here on behalf of the New Republic and the Naboo."
At that the Gungans all around gasped and grumbled.
"We understand your feelings against the Naboo and the New Republic. We know how terribly your people were treated when the Empire took over, but that was not the fault of the Naboo. The Naboo respect the Gungans very highly. You were heroes to them during the the Invasion of Naboo and loyal allies during the Clone Wars. They could never forget that."
"But Desa abandoned us! Wesa did nothing. Naboo are fraidee frogs! Desa run from Empire. Desa leave Gungans! They-sa forget us!"
"No. They never forgot you. They were just as much abandoned and betrayed as you were, only, by the Old Republic. The leaders of the Old Republic were blinded by Palpatine. They didn't realize until it was too late, that he was dangerous." Luke explained. "My mother, Senator Amadala, once Queen of Naboo, was one of those few who saw the dangers of the coming Empire. She fought to stop it, but the majority of Republic were blind to the threat and urged it on. By the time the Empire had been established there was nothing anyone could do to stop it."
He paused before going on. "My mother, who was of the Naboo, did all she could to protect this planet and all on it, including the Gungans. She adored your people. One of her closest advisors was a Gungan. It is my belief that the grief of losing her planet, the Republic and her people all at the same time was too great. So great, that it took a tole on her during her labor and initially caused her death."
