"Long ago, about 5000 years back, the world we know was divided between two races. The Dragons and the Demons. We, humans, were considered as an inferior kind who didn't possess magic essence", says Axel.
"Then what is this?" I say raising my hand and manipulating the wind like a boss.
"I will get there. Be patient", he says with a sigh. He continues saying, "the demons and the dragons used to constantly argue against each other. They had ideologies which didn't sit well with both the parties. The Drakarys, the Demon King, believed that those who are strong are always superior and weaker ones are always meant to be trampled upon. This ideology of Drakarys not only existed between the races but also within the demon race. But the Drazeel, which means Dragon King, did not like the ideologies of the Drakarys. The Drazeel believed that all races are equal and it is the duty of the strong ones to assist and protect the weak ones. The Drazeel believed in mutual understanding and co-existence".
"So, Drazeel is the good guy?" I ask.
"Yes, the Drazeel is the good guy", Axel says stressing on the word 'the'. "The arguments continued until the era of the last Drazeel, Ajax", says Axel.
"So the name of the last Drazeel, who is adored and loved till today, is Ajax, huh?" I ask, for which he just nods.
"The passing down of titles of Drazeel and Drakarys is different. For dragons, the current Drazeel holds a tournament to find out which dragon is worthy to be his successor. No blood ties, only worthiness. Seeing the performance and overall conduct of a dragon in his lifetime, the Drazeel chooses his successor. Then his successor names the next arch dragons".
"Arch dragons?"
"Just like how Drakarys has eight demon saints, who are basically second in command, Drazeel has three arch dragons. They are the arch dragon of intelligence, the arch dragon of strength and the arch dragon of legerity. These three dragons are considered to be strongest dragons of the era, who fall second under the Drazeel. When the Drazeel Ajax was chosen as the successor, everyone was happy. Ajax was loved by all, from elderly dragons to children and his rival dragons. As a sign of passing down the title, the previous Drazeel who was known as Betelgeuse, had passed down an ability known as Virtue, which is known to be used only by Drazeels. Ajax chose his younger sister Zaalia, his friend Griffin and his rival Igor as arch dragons of intelligence, strength and legerity respectively, who were widely accepted because they were known for their intelligence, strength and speed respectively".
"What about title of Drakarys?" I ask, to which Axel gives an uncomfortable grin and says, "Demons are sort of dysfunctional family. The title of Drakarys is bound by blood. In order to become Drakarys, you have to kill previous Drakarys, which means your own father".
"What!?"
"Yes and eight demon saints are nothing but nobles of demon race. They don't kill their predecessor unlike Drakarys. That is not the only thing. It seemed that the real name of Drakarys is not known to anyone in this world. Rumours say that the only being who knows the name of last Drakarys is Ajax himself".
"Something is bugging me the very minute you started narrating this. How come you deduce so much from these mere paintings?" I ask.
Axel gives a sigh for twentieth time today and says, "How can I explain this to you? But whenever I look at these paintings, not only I see them but seems like dragon tongue pop up along with it. I did some research and found out that those who know 75% of dragon tongue, only they can see this. I did find some people and brought them here and surprisingly even they can read it. If I have to measure your knowledge of dragon tongue, it would be around 30-35%".
