I wake up and after finishing my chores, I get ready for the guild. It's been two weeks and Axel's flame massages and Freya's walking exercises are finally paying off. Though I am still clumsy, I am more than happy to finally be able to meet my family.
I put on a white T-shirt and black jeans. Even though it's the month of June, it's still pretty cold and considering that the town of Asaria is slightly elevated than the rest of the places, it makes sense. I grab my jacket from the closet, put on my boots and head out of my dorm.
Asaria is a beautiful town. It was my dream of settling here and after running away from my abusive uncle five years ago, I joined Dragon-heart. I don't remember much of my adventures because those are mostly the memories I share with Axel. I do remember the adventures with Freya, though.
My dorm is situated on the hill, hence I have to head down the hill. After walking for 5 minutes, I reach my second home - Dragon-heart guild. I look around for a moment. It looks bigger than what I remember. Dragon-heart is situated on the banks of the lake Dragon's Eye. Nobody knows why the lake is called that. Some believe that the lake and half crescent hill range got created when one of the battles of ' Old War ' took place here.
I enter through the main door. No one seems to notice my presence. I see Freya near the request board looking for a new adventure, Lucia near the bar ordering drinks, Storm and Mariana busy discussing something. I see the guild has grown over the five and half years.
I look for Axel among the people. I find him sitting alone at a table, busily writing something. It feels as if there is something odd about him today. Then I notice that he is wearing specs. He never fails to amaze me. He is always full of surprises.
Melody, who was coming down from the infirmary, sees me.
" Cassie! ", she shouts.
Everyone in the guild stop whatever they are doing and look at me. I give them an awkward smile and say " Hey guys! ".
All of them get emotional and begin to rush towards me. I panic. But before I can react, Freya intervenes and freezes the people in front of me with her ice magic. " Easy my llamas, you don't want her to panic and go into coma again ", she says.
All the people calm down and smile at me.
" I am glad that you are back, child ". I look up and see 75-year-old Gramps walking down the stairs.
" Yes, its good to be back, Gramps ", I say smiling.
" We all missed you ", someone shouts from the crowd.
I smile at them and for some unknown reason, I look in the direction where Axel was sitting. Axel looks at ne and gives me a gentle smile. I feel butterflies in my stomach. In the span of two weeks, I failed to figure out why Axel had such effect on me.
After greeting a few people, I walk with Freya towards a table.
" Got a suitable job? ", I ask.
" Nah! I think I will pass this week ", she says.
" Why? ", I ask.
" Have you forgotten that Mariana is getting married this week? "
" Oh my dragons! I forgot! ", I say, enlightened.
Freya smiles and says, " by the way, Mariana wants Lucia, you and me to be her bridesmaid ".
" What? ". This news takes me aback.
" Since you came in late today, we have decided that we will go for shopping tomorrow. And we also need to finalize the fittings of our outfits ".
