It would be an understatement if I say that the kids are noisy. Obviously, I am not talking about Amanda and her gang. They are angels. It's been 10 minutes since Lucia left with my umbrella and to pass the time, I had been telling the kids about the adventures I have had after waking up, minus the killing part, that is. The downpour is decreasing at an exponentially slow rate and at one point of time, I was genuinely worried for the Desert Charmer. Right now, I am standing by the gym door which leads out. Amanda's friends, huddled up beside me, are talking ambiguously about what affinity they might have. At one point, I overhear them talk about a person called Jeff. From what I can make out of their conversation, the three kids look up to him the way Amanda looks up to Axel.
After some time, in the chaos of falling water, I see two silhouettes walking towards me. I start to contemplate whether it is Lucia or not, because one silhouette is holding an umbrella and the shape of it is similar to the one Lucia took with her. The other person is not holding an umbrella and he/she is walking in the rain without any protection. Slowly by slowly, colours start to fill in the silhouette and I see that it is in fact Lucia and along with her cam...AXEL! As they climb up the porch, Lucia folds the umbrella while Axel removes the hood, which I didn't notice before because it was attached to his trench coat. The coat is perfectly dry, which I kind of expected because he did tell me once that his trench coat was both fire and water resistant; but his T-shirt and pants are still wet. Suddenly, steam starts to emit from his body and with a satisfying sigh, he says, "It is very convenient being a fire mage. I get to dry my clothes very quickly". Lucia looks at her brother and in a formal voice, says, "I have to say that I am jealous of you, Axel. I can't do that with sand".
"I thought you were going to bring someone who could help with our case", I say bluntly and Axel gives me a fake offended look and says, "That hurt a lot, Cassie". Lucia ignores his comment and asks, "Do you remember I had told how I had the same problem as a kid?", to which I nod and she continues saying, "The person who had helped me overcome that was our mother. In fact, she was the one who taught us how to expel our magic. But as time passed, Adrian and I didn't bother to learn that process from her; but on the other hand, Axel, who was a major mama's boy, learned it. That is the reason why I brought him here". Axel gives a gentlemanly bow and says, "Name's Axel Duncan and it would be a pleasure to lend you my service". I look at him and say, "Dork".
"Hey! That was a good introduction!", protests Axel, to which Lucia says, "I believe the children would appreciate it if you don't do that". Axel is about to retort back when from behind us, the Principal says, "Mr. Axel! It is a pleasure to have you here!" Axel looks at Mrs. Doris and with a sly smile says, "Oh! The ever beautiful Mrs. Doris!"
"Oh! Shut up! You say that every time, Mr. Axel" says Mrs. Doris giggling like crazy. Axel looks at me and says, "Where are the kids?"
"I will take you to them", I say and lead him into the gym with Mrs. Doris and Lucia trailing behind us. On the way, he gives Freya, Mariana and Sophie a nod of acknowledgement while the kids start murmuring. And I see Miss Sarah... WAIT A MINUTE! IS THAT BLUSH I AM SEEING? WAIT! WHY AM I GETTING TRIGGERED!? The trio and Amanda see us and they suddenly stop talking.
"Is everything alright?" Axel asks in a whisper. But before I can answer, not only Dudley squealed but also Zeke and Frieda.
"That is..!" starts Dudley.
"Axel Duncan!", says Frieda.
"Also known as Ashen One!", says Zeke.
"The Phoenix of Dragon-Heart!", praises Dudley.
"The Flame Dancer!", chimes in Zeke.
