With the literal declaration of challenge done, I climb down the mattress and look around. The place looks like any normal living room in a mansion. The main entrance is in front of me, the windows look fine and there are also a few pieces of furniture in the room. I quickly walk towards the main door and try to open it, but it doesn't budge. It seems as if it is barred from the outside. I jog towards the closest window and try the same, but it gives me the same result. I keep looking around the living room, when suddenly, I hear someone say, "If I were you, I would have headed deeper into the mansion". I quickly whip my head in the direction of the voice and see a girl standing near one of the doors connecting to the adjacent room.

The girl has short, blonde hair and her eyes are jet black. She is wearing a white blouse with ripped sleeves and yellow and black checkered skirt which is torn just below her knees. She also has a few slashes on her blouse at the side of her stomach and she has few burns on her arms. I notice scratches on her legs. I also see that she has bandages on her wrists and her forehead.

"Sorry. I am still trying to get my head in the situation", I say, discarding my stilettos and ripping my skirt at the side for added manoeuvrability and speed. The girl swiftly reaches out to me, grabs my arm and rushes towards the door she came through, dragging me along. "We have to hurry. Otherwise, we both will get caught. Those monsters always start from the living room", she says as she leads me from one room to another room. As we keep moving, I realize that this whole mansion is one hell of a maze.

"How long have you been here?" I ask.

"Nine days", she replies promptly.

"Do you remember anything while getting kidnapped?" I ask.

"Down to the very minute details", she replies back.

"Will you elaborate to me all that happened to you?" I ask. The girl briefly stops and looks at me, her gaze clearly indicating that she is annoyed. She retorts back, saying, "How is that going to be of any use to us? I don't see that helping us get out. Are you a Warrior? Then, you sure took your sweet time to get here". She then continues leading me.

"No, I am not a Warrior. But I am a mage who was assigned to put an end to the Wall City's Dread", I reply back and roll up the sleeve of my left hand to show her the Dragon-Heart guild mark. The girl looks at me with her eyes wide. Then, she takes a deep breath and says, "I am sorry. Surviving in this place made me forget my manners. My name is Katherine. Katherine Rivera".

"My name is Cassie Morgan", I say with a small smile.

"Cassie Morgan? Wait! Are you, by chance, the famous 'Gale Sorceress'?" she asks with a shine in her eyes.

"I didn't know that I was famous!", I say, honestly bewildered. What exactly did I do before I went into the coma? So, the thing I saw in my dream was nothing but my insecurities acting up?

"You gotta be kidding me. You are the role model that many girls out there look up to. Some children even idolize you", she exclaims with her eyes wide open. She then shakes her head and says, "Sorry for getting distracted. But it is rare to meet mages like you. I am just a normal girl who uses her intermediate water magic to treat patients in the clinic I work at. It was a normal day, but I was very happy. The boy who I liked a lot had asked me out on a date. He was a regular patient because he worked in Crimson-Knight guild".

"Crimson-Knight? Then, he must be a noble because it is a guild consisting of mages from noble families", I say.

"Yeah. When I came to know that he was a Crimson-Knight mage, I thought that he too must be a stuck-up noble, like the other Crimsons. But surprisingly, he was very humble. It was not that late in the evening. But my excitement for the date led me to take a short-cut to home, so that I could keep things ready for the next day. Even though the sun didn't set then, the alley I took was very dimly lit. Halfway through that alley, I began to feel someones presence behind me. Before I could do anything, I felt someone cover my mouth with a gag and restrain my hands behind my back. The man had hair of dark brown shade and his eyes were sort of gloomy. He quickly hoisted me onto his shoulder and started walking without any difficulty, as if I was not struggling to escape. We moved from alley to alley and reached an old, abandoned house. He placed me on the chair and said 'I am sorry' and walked out of the house. After 15 minutes, another man came in. He looked like a teenager, but the way he walked, I quickly understood that he was an adult. Without any difficulty, he too hoisted me up on his shoulder. But this time, I was shocked. This guy was walking in the streets with a gagged, restrained girl on his shoulder and people were simply turning a blind eye to us. It was as if we didn't exist. We soon reached the Cathedral district and went to this warehouse. He placed me on the floor and brandished an injection. While injecting me I heard him say, 'I am sorry, but I hope that you survive this ordeal' and then, I lost my consciousness. When I woke up, I found myself here". I pat her back as she starts to break down into tears.
