"AXEL!" I scream, as I frantically search for him in the void. I clutch the back of my head as the pain of being hit by something comes creeping in and goes out. Who was that guy? Why did it feel like I have heard him before? And in the first place, why am I here again? I feel my feet getting wet, as if water has been spread all over the floor of the plane of darkness. "This is new", I say out loud, while kicking the liquid with my stilettos. I look around to search for any light source in this void but there's just darkness. This might be the third time I am here. Only Supreme knows how many times I am going to visit this place in the future.

"Sandra", I hear someone say and I quickly run in that direction, confident of whom I will meet there. He is the only person in this world who calls me that. Like light at the end of the tunnel, I see a dimly-glowing speck, which is slowly spreading around, in front of me. As I run, I see a silhouette of a person gradually forming at the horizon and as I get nearer and nearer, it gets lighter and lighter, revealing Axel in his casino attire. I quickly jump on him and hug him tightly, afraid that he might disappear. I am glad that he is doing fine. But after a few seconds, I feel something trickle down my palm. I quickly let go of him and see that my hands are stained with... blood! I look up at him and what I see is sure enough to give me nightmares for a week.

Axel is covered in blood! He has two large wounds in his chest and a big cut on his stomach. The scar on his forehead has reopened, pouring out blood continuously. His white shirt is turning crimson because of his blood. Blood trickles down from his mouth too. His eyes look dull and in a weak voice, he asks, "Why?" My eyes widen at his question.

"Why didn't you save me?" Axel asks, before collapsing onto the wet floor. I realise that the liquid wetting my feet is actually blood! Gradually, my dark world starts to lighten up a bit and I see all my friends, guild mates and my parents surrounding me. I look around at all of them. It is even more horrifying because they too are not left unscathed. They are all bleeding like Axel, and asking me, "WHY?". The chants of the rhetorical question starts filling the void and I collapse on the floor beside Axel, covering my ears with my blood-stained palms. One by one, their bodies start falling onto the ground, splashing droplets of blood on me. I look around when the chants stop. The bodies of people I was close to are the one nearest to me. I see Mom and Dad with a huge hole in their stomach, Freya and Justin with their arms severed from their shoulder. Lucia and Nack's bodies are pierced with spears. Storm and Mariana's limbs are bent in angles beyond my realm of comprehension. Adrian and Sophie's bodies are full of cuts and bruises. Gramps, Uncle Leo, Aunt Minerva and Melody's heads are severed from their torso, their hands holding on to their severed heads. Kace and Ashley's dead bodies are holding on to little Amanda, who is bleeding from her stomach. But all of them have the same question in their dull eyes. I can't help but start crying and cover my face with my hands.

Why me? Why do the people I love and care about always suffer? Am I a curse to them? I cry my eyes out, and at this point I have had enough of this nightmare. All I now want is for this nightmare to stop.

"We meet again, Cassandra", I hear someone say. I put my hands down and look up to see who it is. My eyesight is blurred because of my tears. As I wipe out the tears, recognition and realization dawn on me. Blood drains out from my face and my heart gets filled simultaneously with rage and fear as I see him. He is the last person I would ever want to see in my life. No. Let me rephrase it. He is the person I never want to see in my life.

"U...U...Uncle J...J...Jayden", I stammer as I see him sitting on his chair, with his legs on Axel's chest. He is checking out his revolver and is rubbing its barrel with the back of his palm. He then looks at me, starts loading the revolver and with a malicious smile, says, "Hello, niece. Looks like you are doing well".
