Levi's POV
I climbed onto it and saw...
That the guards had been tied up. I gave a confused expression but climbed up nevertheless. I looked to my side to find that one of my assassins had took care of it when the girl left.
"Good job." I said in an emotionless tone. I couldn't care less if we killed people. It was apart of our very days lives now since the war had been gonna in for so many years.
"We're going to head inside but I only need two to three people with me. Everyone else stand guard and make sure you aren't spotted. Am I clear?" I questioned.
"Crystal." They replied.
Olou, Eld and Gunther came in with me.
We slowly opened the door, luckily it didn't cake a creaking noise to alarm the princess. I put a hand on my lip to signal to be silent. They nodded in response. Once we were all in the room we spread out and started looking for something that could help us with battle plans or something. Unfortunately we found nothing.
I slowly made my way over to Elena's bed. I made slow and steady steps and tried not to make a sound. In the process I pulled my knife out and got prepared to end her life by stabbing her in the heart.
Just as the knife was about to pierce through her skin a hand caught mine just in time. I looked at the hand with a shocked expression and my steel-blue eyes widened in the process. My gaze was met with bright Icy blue hues. I cursed under my breath and pulled my hand out of her grip.
"How the hell did you hear us Elena?" I demanded. My face as dead as ever. However, my eyes where showing anger and If looks could kill she would be dead.
"You really think I'm stupid prince Levi? I'm a trained assassin myself. I'm specialised in this sort of thing! Surely you must've heard the rumours about the ice assassin?" She question in a humiliating way.
She was about to get killed and she's joking around? I questioned myself.
"No... I haven't but that's not the point. The point is that we are here to end your pathetic little life lady." I said venom dripping straight off of my tongue.
"Not today Ackerman. I'm too tired. Please come back another day and try your pathetic weak attempts on killing me. Because guess what? It won't work. Call the war off and we can be at peace." She demanded. If only I could. But I have to avenge my Mother...
"I don't make the rules around here Richardson. Tell your Father to stop attacking us with your assassins and we may just come to a deal." I said. Rolling my eyes in the matter.
"Like you said darling. We don't make the rules around here but I can do one thing for you though.." she said with a peculiar smile.
Oh no...
"And what would that be?" Questioning further. I'm not stupid so I think I have an idea of what she may be planning.
"A ball." She said.
I was completely shocked in why she just said. A ball? Really? Out of everything for her to say why would she say a ball? I know she wants something in return though.
"Why a ball may I ask?" I announced.
"It won't just be any ball. It will be a masquerade ball. One where we can be whoever we want to be and nobody can stop us. I want you to come." She said. Her confidence rising seeing as though she has a trick up her sleeve. I've been in this situation too many times before when looking for a wife. Nothing ever ends well with women...
"What if I decline?" I asked curiosity laced throughout my voice.
"I'll personally make sure to pay you a visit myself at the Ackerman Castle!" She said with a smirk. I dreaded asking her what would happen. All of the memories came back when she calves the heart into my hand. Her look of violence still sending shiver throughout my spine each time I think about it.
"Remembering some good old memories Levi?" She questioned. She slowly started to approach me. She wasn't armed seeing as though she was in a short night gown. So I allowed her to come close.
"So what if I am Elena?" I threatened. I didn't like the fact that she was getting closer. It made me uncomfortable...
She was a few inches away from me and she made contact with my hand by grabbing it. I flinched at the sudden movement but relaxed myself a bit. However I still kept my guard up. She drew a love heart around the top of my hand where she left a scar.
"Oh I remember that day like it was yesterday. Your sweet scared expression as I held my blade to your uncles throat along with yours. I didn't really enjoy it but I kept my word when I said that I'd bring the storm didn't I?" She chuckled at this. "I want to make another scar for you to remember me by. But not one that will hurt..." she said as she looked away. She still had hold of my hand. She slowly backed away as if she regretted what she just said.
"What got into you all of a sudden? Have you lost your ego?" I questioned trying to humiliate her as she did to me. I couldn't read her expression. Her eyes looked fuller from the last time I saw her.
"You've seen so much bloodshed that you've become lifeless." I commented. What am I doing?
"Please just go... I won't say anything I promise but think about my invite to the masquerade ball?" She asked with a smile which was fake. It obviously was fake.
I nodded and she finally let go of my hand. I signalled first the boys to exit the room and retreat. We walked out of the room and waited for them to climb down the vines. I gave one last look at the Richardson's daughter and followed after the boys.
Another chapter done! I hope you enjoyed it Xx
