"Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, WHY THE HELL IS THERE A THING LIKE SCHOOL? LIKE, WHYYYY?"

"Maybe so people like you can learn some manners and how to shut up, Sky," Feya retorted, "so shut up."

"What," Sky exclaimed, "That doesn't even make any sense! How am I supposed to learn how to shut up when everyone talks to me and all the teachers pick on me?"

I internally groaned. They started their bickering again.

Promptly getting up from the couch in the living room, I made my way up the stairs to my bedroom. I slammed the door closed and plopped on my bed, turning on 'Prom Queen' to sing along with. Thought no matter what I did, I shake the feeling that there was someone watching me.

I got up and gradually moved closer to my balcony and once I was close enough, I quickly took a quick look outside and saw a flash of black against the bright blue sky.

Shit.

Without wasting second, I rushed out the door and jumped over the railing, landing in a perfect flip on the floor. I whipped around to see a black-cloaked person running along the roof. Formulating a plan, I ran in parallel to the person on the floor, deciding to use the fence to jump on the roof.

I lunged for it and clambered up quickly, latching on to the ledge of the roof to pull myself up.

Landing in front of the cloaked figure, I stood straight, giving him a second to stop before I delivered a roundhouse kick to his head.

The rooftop was rounded and I would most likely have fallen off if it weren't for my practice with ropes and knives.

He ducked and swiped his leg under me. I jumped and kicked him on the head right before I lost my balance.

There wasn't even a rope to swing back from. Dammit.

I sled down the roof on my butt and right before the edge, I jumped off, praying I would land in the swimming pool.

I tucked into a ball and took a deep breath right before I touched the water.

I can't breathe!

You're in the water dumbass. You shouldn't breathe anyway.

Shut up, I couldn't breathe even if I wanted to!

Suddenly, two strong arms heaved me up and I coughed and spluttered before breathing harshly again.

I was trembling. It was so cold, I felt like I was in a freezer.

I pushed my brain to act as if my life had just died but somehow I survived because the person who heaved me up was none other than brother dearest.

"Astrid! Astrid!"

I coughed up water in response.

"What the hell!?"

Wait a minute, that's Hayden and he's in front of me, so who pulled me up?

I turned around slowly and met steel-gray eyes, like the ones from music with Mrs. Barton in the morning.

Wtf?

I coughed again before my eyes started to close due to exhaustion.

Plus he was super warm too, so that's nice...

Aris POV:

William and I drove up to Hayden's house and parked before getting out. The blondie from music opened the door, and she was clearly confused.

"Hayden," she yelled, "is a Riker supposed to be here?"

I cringed at Riker. I really should have chosen a better last name to disguise myself.

"Yeah, let them in Sky!"

Interesting name. Her eyes are blue like the sky too.

Her eyes narrowed before she said, "Any funny business and you're out."

I gave her a tight smile and a nod before proceeding in. Immediately, I was hit by the smell of lasagna.

Can't say I'm not hungry.

"Is that lasagna," William gasped, "and you didn't invite me?"

Hayden rolled his eyes before inviting us over to the dinner table.

"Where's New Girl, " I asked, "Haven't seen her the whole day."

"Astrid," Hayden called out, "get you ass down here!"

Suddenly we heard something on the ceiling, like walking on ceramic pots kinda thing. And then a thud before I saw New Girl jumping down into the swimming pool like a cannonball.

"Holy crap!"

"Astrid!"

We rushed out and I helped Hayden pull her up while Rayden got a blanket. I held onto her tightly, a feeling of protection washing over me as I saw her cough and splutter.

She started trembling and her eyes began to close until I shook her, hard.

"Astrid," I said urgently, "Astrid!"

Her trembling slowed down and her eyes slowly shut, basking on whatever warmth I could provide her with.

Crap.
