A cry of pure frustration escaped your mouth as soon as you were out of earreach of every living being, your face twisted in pure anger and disappointment. Today was simply not your day. At first, you overslept, then, you were too late for work, and now you got yelled at because your enemy E/N spilled the coffee and told your boss it had been you.
All in all, fuck the world.
You just wanted to go home, wrap yourself in your thick blanket and watching Netflix while cuddling with your boyfriend, Grievous. And that was what you were going to do. But of course, luck was no on your side. Why?
Well, as you lifter your head to look at the sky, the skies began to darken as if it would hide from your view, and it began to rain buckets. With a furious cry, you began to run, desperate to get home before it got any worse, but of course, you dripped and fell into a puddle of dirty water.
When you finally got home, you slammed the door shut behind you, causing two golden irises to turn towards the direction the door came from. You went straight to the bathroom, not even saying hello to your boyfriend, who lifted an eyebrow at your violent behavior. That was certainly unlike you.
The next half an hour, he only heard the shower and many, many curses emitting from the closed door, then, the noise of the hairdryer, and then, the door opened, showing you with a towel wrapped around your body.
"Hey.", you greeted grumblingly. "Hello, love.", he greeted back, his feelings now changing from confused to amused. Looks like you had a bad day. You huffed out when you noted the amused glint in his eyes and pushed past him, walking over to the dresser.
You got into your most comfortable clothes, before flopping down on the couch, grabbing the remote. The taller being only laughed before moving over to you, seating himself behind you, pressing your back against his metallic chest. "Bad day, dear?", he asked and began to massage your shoulders with his deadly claws. "You could say that, yes.", you hissed in annoyance, and leaned against his touch, already enjoying it.
"Tell me...", he purred and rubbed your neck a little bit, easing your tense muscles. "I overslept, my damn boss yelled at me for doing things I didn't, and when I went home, it started to rain and I dripped more times than one." A deep hum rumbled in his chest and he pressed his face into your neck, a gesture that always calmed you. "It's over, Y/N. You're home." A smile graced your face as a deep, relaxed sigh left your mouth. "Yeah, that's true."
"I have a surprise for you, my dear.", he purred, causing you to turn your head into his direction, a questioning look on your face. "Really?" "Yes, come with me." He stood up, walking over to the kitchen, to where you followed. Your eyes widened in shock as you entered, and you surely had to search for your jaw later.
On a beautifully decorated table, a wonderful smelling f/f stood there, ready to be eaten. Very slowly, you turned your head towards his face, looking directly into his gleaming eyes, that were reflecting a smile. "G-Grievous...what...?" "Happy Valentine's Day, my love.", he purred and stroked your cheek.
Your heart exploded in your chest, a huge grin spread across your face, and you jumped right into his arms, hugging him so hard that he feared for his gut sack and armor
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!!", you cried repeatedly and kissed his faceplates. He chuckled and nudged you towards the table. "Come, eat, I've spent hours cooking it and many, many, many nerves have been flung out of my brains orbit.", he joked and rubbed his eyelids.
You laughed but lifted a hand. "Yeah, I'll go eat, but first...", you walked away disappearing into the other room, causing him to release a deep, questioning rumble. You were gone for a few seconds before you appeared in the door frame, holding a necklace, which made Grievous' eyes widen in pure shock.
"Is...Is that...?", he whispered and took a step towards you, reaching out. Your eyes softened as you nodded, letting the necklace fall into his hand. "Yeah, Grievous. It's the necklace of your mother. I've managed to get my hand on it.", you smiled kissed his mask.
His eyes switched between you and the piece of jewelry in his claws, and you could have sworn you saw how tears slowly formed in his eyes. He pulled you into a tight hug, pressing you against his chest, a low, rumbling purr emitting from him.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Grievous.", he whispered as you hugged back, a huge grin on your face. "Happy Valentine's Day, my love! My world! My Everything!", he whispered, not trusting his voice not to crack. You chuckled, and pulled back, turning your head towards the food on the table. "Well, I better get eating now.", you chuckled, which caused him to laugh.
With those words, you sat down and began to eat, enjoying the wonderful taste of the cooking abilities of your mate.
