"Who is that man?" Mother asks as soon as I hop in the car. I look out the window and watch Rhett walk towards his car.

"My English teacher"

"Really? He looks like a snack" she drools. I look at her. She cannot have him. No one can. Only me.

"He's taken, please don't try anything"

"Fuck you. Don't fucking tell me what to do" she then drives off, passing the speed limit.

I don't say anything. I don't want to get onto anymore of her nerves.

I was now in my room working on my food tech booklet-since Jessie wouldn't let me do my work in peace during class and had to talk to me.

My phone vibrates indicating that someone has messaged me. I look at my phone and smile. It was Queenie.

Queenie👑:

Heyy, are we still going together to prom?

As friends?

If you want to, I don't mind

Cool, Dustin and I broke up again, I told him I didn't like him anymore

How did he take it?

He apparently already knew

I think we're going to be friends with benefits

My phone rings and I immediately pick up and put her on speaker as I write down answers in the booklet.

"Hey" I say.

"Hey. By the way how did your lil meeting go with your man?"

I blush when she calls Rhett 'my man'.

"Well, I told him everything about the email crisis, and the hospital incident. Oh yeah, he knows about you knowing about us"

"I mean he should've known when I saw you guys kissing in class" she chuckles.

I giggle, "true and your my best friend, of course I'd tell you about this stuff"

"Did anything else happen?"

"Well... he told me to hop on his lap so I did and we begun to..." my heart begins to beat as my fingers go numb, "make out"

She gasps then laughs, "n'awww"

"Tongue?"

"What?" I ask.

"Did you guys did it with tongue?" She repeats.

"Only a little, I feel like he wasn't entirely sure to completely use it or not"

"Oh I need to tell you! Rhett is friends with Mr Neal. He told me they're close and his name is Link" I add.

"Link?"

"Yes Link" I confirm.

"It kinda sounds like a nickname?" She questions.

"It kinda does. I can find out for you, they share the same office"

"Okay"

"BELI, WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?" Father shouts from the living room.

"QUEENIE"

"IS SHE THE HOT ONE?"

I don't answer him.

"The hot one?" Queenie scoffs.

"Father is a full time perv"

"I can tell" I can hear her shake her head.

My door then bursts open. Mother walks in and says, "I'm about to head out, there's food on the counter and here's the list of chores you have to do before you go to bed" she places it on top of the booklet I was working on.

"Okay, thanks"

"Don't thank me" she snarls as she walks out, closing the door behind her.

"How do you live like that?" Queenie asks.

I don't answer, only because I don't have an answer to tell her.

"Your mum's a hooker and a bitch. Your dad's a perv and an abuser... wow... Beli, you deserve more than that. Not the place your living in right now"

"Yeah... I don't know. It's hard but I manage" I tell her.

"I wish I could help you out"

I don't say anything. Instead, I begin reading the list of things mother wants me to do. It wasn't that long so it would be easy for me to complete.

1. Clean kitchen
2. Wash dishes
3. Clean your room
4. Finish all homework
5. Sleep

"I should go and complete the list of chores mother wants me to do"

"Okay. Don't forget to tell Connor about prom"

"Logan" I correct.

"Yeah, him"

I chuckle, "I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yes, love you, bye"

"Love you too, bye"
