Beli's POV
"So tell me more about yourself, Rhett" mother says as she serves him a plate of a slice of roast pork, potatoes and salad.
"I'm done here, bye shit heads" Marco announces before slamming the front door shut.
"I forgot he was here" mother says.
I begin to cut into my pork and the crackle, although the crackle was a little too tough to cut into. I ended up just taking a bite out of it and getting the piece that I just cut into my mouth.
God I love mother's pork roast.
"Well, I don't think it's appropriate for me to talk about myself since I'm Beli's English teacher so why can't we talk about how much of an excellent student she is?" Rhett finally says.
"Yeah right... so anyways are you seeing anybody?"
"Mother" I clear my throat.
"I was just wondering! I'm a free women now" she defends.
Rhett looks at me, "I actually am seeing somebody but we're not official yet" He then looks at mother.
"Since it's not official, we should hang out some time" she winks.
"I don't think I can do that"
"Why not? You're not in love are you?" She laughs, "love isn't even real. It's just a bunch of bullshit"
"Only if you believe"
I smile to myself as I look down at my food.
"What are you smiling about?" Mother hisses.
"Nothing" I shake my head but I'm still smiling down at my food.
"Right..."
