Maeve's POV

“Maeve!”

“Maeve!”

“MAEVE!”

Binuksan ko ang mga mata ko and glared at Felicity,
“ANO?!” sigaw ko.

She was staring at me with wide horrified eyes, tears leaking out of it,
“N-Nasaan tayo?”

I suddenly felt odd, the temperature, the ambiance..

I sat up and look around, nakahiga ako sa malamig na semento and the place kung nasaan kami.. Pano kami napunta rito?

It's like a huge temple, with pillars supporting the high ceiling.
There were various people wandering and I noticed that iba't iba ang mga ethnicity nila base sa kanilang mukha, some are black, some are white, and some are asian basta iba't iba, the thing that's common about them is that most of them share the same expression, confused, lost and miserable.

“Nasaan na tayo?” tanong ko kay Felicity.

“Kaya nga tinatanong ko sayo diba?” Mataray na sabi nya despite sa mukha nya na parang lugi.

“Whatever.” I said and stood up.
“Hahanap ako ng paraan palabas rito, sasama ka?"

“Malamang! Alangan iwan mo ko rito?!” Pasigaw na sabi nya.

“Talagang iiwan kita rito kung di ka titigil sa kakasigaw mo.” I said at naglakad,

“W-Wait!” she shouted,
“I'll shut up.”

Hinayaan ko na lang syang sumunod sakin, as I walk aimlessly, I began to wonder kung pano kami nakapunta rito.
What happened? All I remember was the light, the screams..

“Natatandaan mo ba yung mga nangyari?” I asked Felicity.

“Ako ba yung kinakausap mo?” she asked. Gusto ko syang sagutin ng pabalang but since she asked nicely.

“Oo.”

“Ako din natatandaan ko lahat.” she said, and then she suddenly gasped.
“Maeve, don't you think.. We're dead?”

My eyes widened and my steps halted,
“What makes you say that?” I said, remembering what Grim told me months ago.

When you're dead, you'll know.. The reapers would be there and there'd be portal kung saan dadalhin ka nila sa pintuan.
But in our case, there was no door, there was no portal, no reapers that came to gather our souls.
Eh kung ganun nga, nasaan na kami?
What happened before I lose conciousness?
Was this all just a dream? Kung ganun nga bakit kasama ko si Felicity? Why are we sharing the same dream? Or was she just a part of my dream?
But why does it felt so real?

Just what the hell is happening here?

“Alam mo, Maeve, try kaya nating kumausap kaya nung isa sa mga tao rit--O-Oh my god!” Napatingin ako kay Felicity when I heard her horror stricken voice.

Bigla lang syang napaupo and scooted backwards, I followed her gaze and saw what she was staring at.

A skeleton clad in a black cloak.. A reaper.

Here it is, maybe alam nya kung bakit nangyayari to.

“Psst, uy! Reaper!” I called out and I could feel Felicity staring at me in shock.

“Reaper!” I said loudly and ran towards it.

It turn and gaze at me and I don't know how but I feel like it recognized me.

“Pwedeng paki-explain kung anong nangyayari?” I asked, but it just stared at me.

“Oh hindi ka nga pala nakakapag-salita. Si..” I hesitated,
“Si Grim, asan? Alam nya ba ang nangyari samin?”

I was secretly hoping that he would nod and bigla na lang magsasalita to explain what happen but it just shrugged and pointed at a direction,

“Nandun sya?” tanong ko at tumango sya.
“Thank you.”

“Felici--”

When I turn to look at her, she looks absolutely terrified,
“Anong problema mo?” I asked, at lumapit sakanya

The reaper went on its way after it wave goodbye to me, I waved back.

“You-You talked to that skeleton like it's nothing?!” Tanong ni Felicity.
“How?!”

I sighed,
“Long story. Tumayo ka na dyan, I needed to talk to someone.”

“And who is that someone?” she asked as I helped her get up.

“The Grim Reaper.”
I smirked at her horrified face.

“What?! Nasisiraan ka na ba? Pwede nya talaga tayong tuluyan kapag nakita nya tayo!” she said and I rolled my eyes as I started to walk again sa kung saan man yung tinuro nung reaper.

“How do you know?” tanong ko.
“And you okay? Para oang maiihi sa takot.”

“I-I was just a bit shocked.” she replied.

I smiled,
“Of course you are.” I said sarcastically.

“I really am! Atsaka how do you know na hindi tayo tutuluyan ng Grim Reaper? Close ba kayo ni kamatayan?” she asked like she was mocking me.

I let out a small sigh escape my lips, remembering Grim and the words I said to him.
“We used to.”

“H-Ha?”

“Less talking, more walking. Kailangan kong makausap si Grim.”
I walked faster leaving behind a confused Felicity.

“T-Teka, hintayin mo ko!” she said and started to catch up to me.
“Close ba talaga kayo para tawagin mo syang Grim? Niloloko mo ba ako?”

“Why do you think kilala ako ng Reaper kanina?” I asked her,
“Because, I know them and their master kaya please lang, stop wasting our energies, we need them for later.” I said,

“But I need answers! Nalilito ako. Mababaliw ako if I didn't make any sense of what was happening now." She said na nakahawak pa sakanyang ulo.

“Matagal ka ng baliw. And stop being so over dramatic. Sasabihin ko sayo after we found Grim, stop whining, ang sakit sa tenga.”

Thankfully she did shut up after that at nagpatuloy lang kami sa paglalakad, I'm not even sure kung meron na ba kaming isang oras na nanglalakad ni Felicity.
But oddly enough I don't feel tired and when I asked her about it, hindi din daw sya napapagod.

I shrugged it off, and after a few more minutes, I saw a light from the distance.
“Yun siguro yung tinuturo ng Reaper.”  I muttered to myself and walk faster, hoping that I finally could get answers.
