Maeve's POV

I don't know what to think.
I don't know what to feel.

Hinahanap ko sya, and now he's right there. Right in front of me.
My heart was beating so fast in my chest, gusto ko syang yakapin bigla.

“Maeve okay ka lang?” Narinig kong sabi ni Sel but my focus was just on Grim.

Alam ko umiiyak na naman ako but I don't care, I stood up at nilapitan sya, but a few people passed by in front of him and he disappeared.
“G-Grim?”

No, no, no. Where is he?! Andami ko pang gustong itanong sakanya, bakit sya nawala?!

“Maeve, saan ka pupunta?!” Narinig kong sigaw ni Sel from behind.

Tumatakbo ako, not knowing kung saan ako pupunta at kung saan sya hahanapin. Yes, desperada na ko but I want to see him so bad.
Tears endlessly stream down my face making my vision blurry.
I know mukha nakong baliw ngayon na umiiyak na nagkalat ang makeup but at this point I didn't care anymore.
Gusto ko syang makita. Gusto kong malaman kung bakit ako nagkakaganito.

May mga nabubunggo ako at may naririnig ako na sinisigawan at yung iba ay minumura na ko pero wala akong pakielam.
Si Grim, gusto ko syang makita.

I stopped at an empty road. Walang tao and occasionally ay merong kotse na dadaan. Bumagal ang lakad ko and I look around me, from a far I could still see the glittering lights of the carnival and the happy sounds of people from far away.
Pinunasan ko yung mga luha ko using the long black sleeves of my turtleneck.
At kahit balot na balot ang buo kong katawan, I still felt cold. I wrapped my arms around me and felt myself starting to shiver.
Naglakad ako, not really knowing kung saan ako pupunta, my pace so slow and my teeth chattering. I've always been so sensitive with the temperatures.

Nagpatuloy lang ako sa paglalakad, passing by buildings and houses after houses. But then as I continued to walk it feels like mas patahimik ng patahimik ang lugar na parang nagiging ghost town ito.
I felt a sudden feeling of deja vu. Parang nangyari na ito dati, but in a different place..
But where?

As the seconds ticked by, I felt like I'm losing hope.

Asan na sya?

But then, a gust of wind went pass me and I look up.
A familiar skeleton clad in cloak was in front of me.

“R-Reaper?” I said, confused.

The reaper stayed silent and turn their back as if wanting me to follow them.
Thinking that they would lead me to him ay sumama ako sakanya.

I noticed that people aren't around anymore, as if the time stopped by itself.
Wala na yung mga kotse at yung ingay, the only thing that was left was the lights from the building, the beautiful stars and the pale moon shining from above as if leading me to where he is.
Nakasunod lang ako dun sa reaper.
The night was eerily quiet. Kami lang ba ang gumagalaw rito?

The reaper suddenly disappeared from my eyes and I was suddenly alone.
Where the hell did they lead me?
I'm on a bridge. Ano gagawin ko dito? Magsu-suicide?

I look around and saw him. Grim.
He's under the bridge. He was still in a cloak but I'm sure that it was him and not one of his reapers.
I'm on a road and next to me was a metal fence leading to a dirt terrain in a slope leading down.
I hopped over the fence and dahan-dahang bumaba, being careful to keep my balance para di ako madire-diretso pababa at mahulog sa ilog na nandun.

A minute or so later nakababa nako, meron pa namang lupa na nakapaligid sa ilog so I used that so I could go under the bridge where I saw him.
But as soon as nandun nako, he was not there anymore.
It was just me, under the bridge. Dark. Alone. Cold.

I felt hopelessness suddenly engulfed me like a heavy blanket, and before I could even cry I felt arms wrapped around me from behind.

I started to cry.

I know it was him.

Naguguluhan ako kung bakit ganto ang nararamdaman ko but my focus right now is him.
His pale arms around me and his chin resting on my shoulder.
Kahit na hindi ko sya nakikita, I know that he was smiling.

“G-Grim..” I said,

“Masaya ako.” he said suddenly,

“H-Ha?”

He leaned closer until I could feel his cold lips near my ear.

“I can't promise that my mind will remember you as soon as I woke up, but I promise that no matter what happens, my heart will.” he whispered.

My eyes widened, bakit sobrang pamilyar ng mga salitang yun? Saan ko narinig ang mga yun?

“Sinabi mo sakin yan.” he said at lalo akong naguluhan.

“H-Ha? K-kailan?” Nagtatakang tanong ko.

“Malalaman mo rin.” he said and felt his head moving away from me, then going back to kiss my hair.
“Mahal na mahal kita, Maeve. Tandaan mo yan.” he said and held my cold hand in his.

Hindi ko alam kung anong espirito ang sumanib sakin. I smiled, closed my eyes and let a tear escaped my eye.
“Mahal na mahal din kita, Grim.”

I turn around so I could face him but I was met with nothing but thin air.
“G-Grim?”

“No, no. Grim?! Asan ka na?” Pasigaw na sabi ko.
“Grim please, mag-usap tayo, nakikiusap ako bumalik ka.” I said but I was met by silence.

I felt myself slumped to the ground while I continued to whail like a child.
“T*ngina naman Grim, ang unfair mo! Bakit di mo kasi sabihin?! Bakit di ka muna nag-stay kahit sana five minutes lang?!”

I continued to cry loudly, not caring kung may makakarinig sakin at isipin nilang baliw ako.
I'm not sure kung ilang minuto o oras akong umiiyak when a person hurriedly approaches me from the shadows.

“Maeve?! Maeve! Thank goodness at nahanap din kita, saan ka ba nagpunta?” Sel said as he rushed towards me.
