Chapter 19

Maeve's POV

“Maeve? Maeve! Oh my god!” Felicity said ng nakita nya ako, she was already in the garden and what surprised me is nung lumapit sya and gave me a hug, muntik nakong masubsob sa dibdib nya as I awkwardly returned her hug and she reluctantly pulled away.

She seemed to realize kung anong ginawa nya and took a few steps away from me.
“I-I'm glad that you're back.”

“Uh oo nga..” I murmured, a little shocked but flattered sa ginawa nya.

Was she really worried about me?

“Tingin ko kailangan mo muna ng pahintulot bago ka lumapit sa Maeve ko.” I heard him said behind me and narinig ko ang palapit nyang lakad.

Felicity gaze at him then me,
“What?”

“Ignore him. Walang nagma-mayari sakin.” I gritted out with an annoyed tone.

Before he even had the chance na lumapit ng tuluyan sakin, naglakad ako palayo sakanya at palapit kay Felicity where I grabbed her hand.
Mukhang nabigla sya sa ginawa ko but didn't say a thing.
Hanggang sa makapunta kami sa harap ng pond.
To my relief ay hindi naman 'sya' sumunod.

As me and Felicity sat in front of the pond, I dipped my hand and it rippled again, and then after a few seconds ay nakita ko ulit ang sarili ko, still looking horrible with all those bruises and wounds littering my body.

“You look terrible.” Felicity commented habang nakatingin sa pond.

I let out a scoff,
“Look who's speaking, you don't look better yourself.”

She ignored my comment at nagsalita ulit.
“How come na walang nagbabantay sayo?”

I didn't answer.

Her hand touched the water, it rippled and then the scene changed, it was her now in a hospital bed, her body looks bad as well.
There next to her bed was a woman that appears to be sleeping, her head rests on the bed.
I gaze at her and saw tears forming in her eyes.

“Ma..” I heard her whispered.
“Gusto ko ng bumalik sa katawan ko.”

“I- I can't take it any longer. Change it back.” she said and before she break down crying sinawsaw ko na yung kamay ko and it changed back to where my body is.

“Wait..”  I said, watching the door of my room open.
“..What?”

My parents, my sister.. They are there.
As soon as they saw me, my mother hugged my father and she was crying.
My father was holding back tears.

My younger sister went next to me and she hugged my unconscious body lightly. I couldn't see her face, pero nung tumayo sya nakita ko syang nagpupunas ng luha.

I can't believe it. They're here.. Next to my unconscious body.
Why?
I thought they said na hindi na nila ako kailangan? Na hindi na nila ako anak?

My desire to come back went bigger than ever and I could do nothing to stop the tears that streams down my face.

“Y-Your parents?” Felicity asked, hiccuping slightly

Tumango ako, still unable to utter a single word.

“Mahal ka naman pala nila eh.” she said and yumuko ako.

“Gusto ko ng umuwi.” I said at pinunasan ang mga luha ko.
“..but I'm afraid na baka hindi nako makabalik.”

“Anong ibig mong sabihin?” Felicity asked,

“What if..” sabi ko.

“What if..?” she repeated my question.

“What if di na ako makaalis rito? What if he could make me stay here forever?” I said softly.

“..But it's not his decision to make.”

Agad akong napatingin sakanya,
“Ha?”

She shook her head,
“I want to tell you, but surely nakikinig sya. He is this place. Alam nya lahat ng nangyayari at naririnig nya lahat ng sinasabi natin.”

I raised my eyebrows,
“Obviously.”

“..I'm scared of him.” Felicity said,
“I know naririnig nya ko ngayon.. Oo takot ako sakanya but let me tell you this, the desicion of you coming back is not his to make.”

I let the words she said to me sink in and that's when I nodded my head, fully understanding.
He is the Grim Reaper. Taga-sundo lang sya. Hindi sya ang magdedesisyon kung mabubuhay ako o hinde.

Maybe, oo mabubuhay ako, Maybe, hinde.
But anything was better than being stuck in here.

Tumango ako kay Felicity and smiled, a signal telling her na na-gets ko ang sinabi nya.
We know that Grim already knows kung ano ang pinag-uusapan namin, and I couldn't care less.
He can trap me all he want here and he could be the clingy asshole that he is, but still I could leave him and he could do nothing about it.
That thought gave me determination that someday I will wake up and see my parents again and if not then I should accept it.

I stood up, feeling happier na hindi ako maii-stuck dito sa boring place na to with Grim forever.
And speaking of the devil, he was behind us, looking grim, which suits him.

“So, narinig mo.” I said but he didn't answer.

His face got darker, glaring at me pero di ako nagpatinag.
Instead, I gave him a mocking smile.
“I was not yours Grim and never will be. So sulit-sulitin mo na ang oras na nandito ako, iiwan na lang kita ng autograph before I leave para di mo naman ako masyadong ma-miss.”

A smile suddenly appeared on his lips and I was taken aback.
Why is he smiling?
“Ayos lang. Ang gusto ko lang naman ay ang makasama ka at mahalin mo ako kahit sandali lang. Dahil alam ko na sa oras na mawawala ka na sa mundo ko ay baka hindi ko na maramdaman ang mga ipinaramdam mo sa akin.”

I just gaze at him with my mouth slightly agape.
