" Woah woah! Calm down! My name is Y/N Y/LN. I'm a reporter for The New Yorker, I'm investigating the recent murders of the four young women. I.... I fallowed one of the detectives here." I put my hands up in the air and slowly backed away from the group.

"How can you see us?" The man keeps his arrow pointed at me, not believing my story.

"What do you mean? You're here, that's how I can see you. Look, if you don't believe me, I have my reporter badge in my bag." I open my bag and riffle through my things to find my badge. Once I find it I hold it up in front of me, the blond man grabs it from me and studies it.

"Jace, she has the sight, she's one of us." A woman steps forward, she's stunning, I stared at her in awe and notice that she's holding a whip.

"Guys, remember when I saw you kill that demon at Pandemonium? I didn't know about the shadow world then, but I was a Shadowhunter. What if she's the same as me? Maybe she's a Shadowhunter." A red-haired woman looks at me along with the others.

"What are you talking about? Who was that man and why did he have fangs? Why is the dog still here?" I step towards them cautiously as they study me. The dog steps forward and becomes smaller and smaller until he morphs into a man, Detective Garroway to be exact. He steps forwards and I take a step back in shock, tripping over my heels and landing on my hands.

"Miss Y/N you're relentless. Looks what you've gotten yourself into." Detective Garroway crouches down and looks at my hands, they were cut open from the sharp rocks on the ground and my neck has been spurting blood since that man cut it open, I didn't realize how much blood I've lost until my vision started to become hazy.

"She's definitely has angel blood in her, I can smell it." I hear someone say before my head hits the ground and I close my eyes.

Jace POV

After drawing the healing rune on the girl's arm, the team took her to the institute for testing. The rune worked slowly on her, since her body isn't used to runes, but judging by the fact that the rune worked, it's safe to say that she has angel blood running through her veins. She seems familiar, like I've seen her before, I just can't remember where.

Luke ran a background check on her and turned up with nothing, the girl is more boring than a sack of potatoes. She was adopted by two guys in California and went to a private school, graduated with honours, attended Columbia University, graduated with honours from there, and now she works at The New York Times. She doesn't have a boyfriend, lives alone, and doesn't seem to have a social life.

"You've been staring at her for over 10 minutes, it's starting to get a little creepy." Clary leans against the entrance of the door while I continue to look at the reporter.

"I've seen her before." I say as Clary sits down beside me.

"Where?"

"If I knew I wouldn't be staring at her, now would I?"

"I don't blame you for staring at her, she's beautiful."

"Who is she?" I stare at the sleeping girl again, raking my brain and trying to figure out where I've seen her.

"Jace, she needs to go back to the mundane world."

"She's a Shadowhunter Clary, she belongs in the shadow world."

"You don't know what it's like being thrown into this world, you grew up being a Shadowhunter. Y/N has built life in the mundane world and we're taking that away from her."

"You were raised in the mundane world and you adjusted."

"I was 16, I didn't have a career, my own house, friends, my only family was Luke, mom, and Simon. Y/N has her life together, she's an excellent reporter and she's going to have an amazing career. We need to leave her alone." Just then, Isabelle appears by the doorway and calls us to the main room.

The screen that Isabelle stands beside shows an old picture of Stella, I know that picture like the back of my hand, it's the only thing that's left of her. Anger fills up my stomach and I snarl at Isabelle involuntarily.

"Why the hell are you showing us this?" I demanded as I try to yank the controls away from her, she hold it tightly, refusing to let me take control.

"If you're not going to listen to what I have to say then you can leave. I know how sensitive you are when it comes to the subject of Stella, but the team needs to hear this." Isabelle stares at me sternly, since it's no use arguing with her, I cross my arms and stare at the screen.

"When I was cleaning up Y/N's cut, I wanted to double check that she actually is a Nephilim, so I ran an analysis of her blood. The Shadowhunter database picked up a match of her DNA. Y/N's DNA matches exactly with Stella Joyen. Guys, I think we found the long lost Shadowhunter princess." My body felt rigid, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It can't be Stella, she's dead, she's been dead for 17 years.
