Morning hit everyone like a truck.Obviously, me, my father and siblings don't sleep so we weren't as tired but did each have hangovers; Tony hadn't even ventured from his room yet.
Natasha had dragged Clint and Raphael to the gym, Bucky was passed out on the couch still with Steve sleeping on the floor next to him, Thor had fallen asleep in Bucky's bed that he'd wandered into drunkly before he woke up early and returned to Asgard, Sam was also lay on the floor next to Steve, Wanda was sleeping in her room still.
I had decided to go to my fathers temporary house in the woods and talk about last night.
I stopped outside the big doors and exhaled trying to will myself to be brave.
"Sissy!" Morta squealed excitedly, pulling me into the house.
Morta dealt well with hangovers, being drunk and high 24/7 meant she'd gotten used to them.
"You here for dear daddy" she joked.
"Yeah, where is he?" I gulped.
"In his study" she told me with a smile before skipping to the kitchen and downing something presumably alcoholic.
I passed Hera on my way down the stairs: she was dressed in an expensive dress, hair curled and makeup polished. She never looked disheveled.
Always perfect.
"Hey Hera" I simpered.
"You here to torture Dad some more?" She asked my bluntly.
I frowned at her comment, Hera was always bitchy.
It's how she hid her feelings, she felt that if she showed her it made her human or mortal...that being beneath her as she said.
"I don't know, maybe he'll get angry if I tell him about you and Michael" I fired back, she grabbed my arm and I could feel the heat on her fingers.
I snatched my hand from hers in anger, her eyes flashed with sadness before she spoke.
"Dad isn't the monster you make him out to be Aradia." Hera blurted.
She bowed her head for a moment before flicking her hair up with a sigh.
"You weren't his second, Hera. You haven't seen the monster in him" I growled, she flinched referring to his devil face.
When I'd seen it, to prove my worth to him, I wouldn't speak for days. Ever since then, I'd never really seen him as my father rather something to be revered. Hera idolised him.
"Boo who, you were his favourite" Hera snapped.
"look. You think he's this soulless, heartless man but..." Hera shook her head in frustration.
"he loved Maria. He also loves us all" Hera urged.
"Hera, you can think that" I began but she cut me off with desperation.
"Why do you think he sent us for you? You really think he couldn't rule hell without you?" Hera's words caught me off guard.
I was speechless, not really knowing the answer to her question-she didn't wait for one though.
She stormed off in anger. I leant against the wall, seeing Michael standing at the top of the stairs with a stoic expression.
"I don't wanna hear another lecture Michael"
"I don't wanna have to give you anymore of them Aradia" Michale said sternly to me.
For a second he reminded me of Steve chiding someone. He was now face to face with me, towering above me trying to intimidate me.
"You're supposed to be our sister Aradia. You didn't even think of the consequences of you leaving for everyone else" Michael yelled.
"You all wanted to stay!" I argued.
"Because we don't have a choice!" Michael slammed his fist into the wall beside me, punching a hole through it.
"We're supposed to be brother and sister, remember? But you decided this life on your own" Michael's voice broke mid sentence, allowing me to see the upset in his words.
"Without us" he finished.
"That's enough Michael" Dad's voice echoed warningly.
We both stared at each other, neither Michael or I wanting to be the first to cower down. Michael grunted, defeated and followed where Hera had left.
"Hey Dad" I sighed.
"Can we talk?" I gulped, wondering how this was going to pan out.
I couldn't lose my home, my newfound family...Bucky.
My father smiled, but it wasn't the sickly evil smile I was so accustomed to...it was a sad, genuine smile.
"To my study" he ordered softly, beckoning me with his hand.
I ventured up the stairs, instantly recognising Tony's style of decor as I ascended-my father rounded a corner and disappeared into an out of view room.
The room was finely decorated, with leather chairs and a grand oak desk; I felt like I was in a principal's office or something.
"Father" I found my voice.
He glanced up at me with intrigue.
"I can't go back. My home is here, I love you, I love all my siblings dearly but...I can't leave this life behind. Here I can be, more than just bad" I began.
"Ara, my dear" he hushed me by advancing forward.
He hesitated, placing an undecided hand on my shoulder with glistening eyes.
"I may be the devil but...I love you children with every fibre of me" he said with conviction.
I was taken aback, like the breath had been taken from me.
"I loved Maria" he trailed off sadly.
"You-you did?" I stuttered.
He nodded. I wrapped my arms around him cautiously pulling him into a hug, a rush of warmth ran through me-love for my father.
"We are all staying here. Tony offered us a position as a new task force of sorts, I will be back and forth between hell and Midgard. You are happy here little darkness, that's all I ever wanted" he told me, the most honest I'd ever heard him.
"Really?!" I squealed.
I was really staying!
I planted a kiss on his cheek and ran from the house, searching for my Bucky.
Through the woods my heart beat faster than ever, looking up at the blue stained sky I spotted Bucky on the roof of the facility, watching Sam goof around in the air with Raphael.
Unable to contain my excitement, I extended my wings soaring upwards-skilfully avoiding colliding with my brother and Sam. Bucky saw me and beamed.
"Hey there Doll" he yelled.
Not slowing down, I flew into him enveloping my entire body around him, wings and all. Tightly, like if I let go he'd vanish. Turn to ash or something.
"Woah! Not that I'm unhappy about the welcome but why so happy?" He teased.
"I'm staying! We all are" I giggled with euphoria.
His eyebrows shifted upwards before his lips clashed into mine, pure love filling my heart. The hole I'd been trying to fill for so long, now gone.
