After I write this, I will settle down with a well earned book. You know, I haven't read a single thing all day. You don't believe me? Well that doesn't surprise me at all. It's not as if most of my diary entries don't go on about me reading all day. And it's just natural, isn't it? I'm sure it would be the same with any bookworm. Put them in the library for a day and they read like crazy. And as you know, I am a bookworm and I'm proud of it.So now, let me explain.

Today is the first day since I moved into the library that I haven't read all day. It's the first day since the fire that I've spent most of my day not in the library.Okay. So if I wasn't in the the library, where was I? I'm sure you're bursting out of your skin with curiosity. So I'd better stop rambling and tell you.

I was at school.

That's right I've decided to keep on going to school. I mean, none of my friends know about the fire. They would just worry about me if I didn't turn up. School usually starts on my birthday(poor me), but since yesterday was a Sunday, it started today.

It was weird, going to school, as if everything was normal.Sitting in class and listening to the teacher, writing and learning out of books, maths, English and science and sitting under the oak tree at break time, chatting with my friends as we ate our lunch. As if the fire had never happened, and everything was still the same as last year. As if, when school finished for the day, I would go home to my beautiful house where my loving family would be waiting for me.I found myself feeling that I'd rather be in the library. It was so much nicer than school. And school wasn't part of my new life as the library girl. School was part of my old life, living in a house with my family. It didn't feel right for such a huge part of my old life to intrude into my new life. And I didn't like it one bit.Not that I had a bad time at school. Most of the time I actually had quite a good time. Let me tell you all about it, right from the beginning.
