Oh. My. God. FIVE!!! I haven't written for FIVE whole days!!!!!!!!!
It's just... terrible. The absolute worst. Please forgive me!
Anyway, I'd better tell you what I've been doing. The day after I wrote last, I was still very upset about what had happened the day before. I had gotten over it enough to be able to read, so I just buried myself in a book all day so that I didn't think about my awful reality.
The day after that I went to for a sleepover at Emma's place for two nights, and I accidentally forgot my diary at the library! I wanted to write and tell you all about what a great time I was having, but I couldn't, because I didn't have you with me! It was horrible. I will try never to do it again.
When I got back home to the library, my diary wasn't there!Someone had taken it while I was away! I was very upset about losing it and worried all night about it. I thought I would never see it again.Imagine my joy and relief when Tina turned up with it the next morning! Early in the morning, when librarians were still arriving,Tina came up to me, where I was still waking up in my bed on one of the library couches, holding something in her hand.
"Rosa?" she said. "I believe this belongs to you?"
I was speechless. I stared at her with my mouth open."What... how did you know?"
She held the diary out to me. "My niece came to stay with me the other day," she told me. "She found this in the library and brought it home. I looked inside and... there was your name, written on the inside cover. Don't worry," she added, seeing the expression on my face. "I haven't read any of it."
I didn't know what to say as I took the diary from her."Thank you," I breathed.
I knew that it wasn't nearly enough to show my gratitude to her for giving my diary back to me.Yes, I know I'm talking about all this as if it was a long, distant memory. But it was really only a few minutes ago.Because as soon as Tina had given me the diary, I found my pencil tucked into the spine, opened the diary, and started to write. And that's all I've been doing since then. But now I'm going to stop, close the diary and figure out what my next read will be.
