In which Steve and Bucky tell you about Tony's crush

I walked into the living room of the compound, tired from a long jog out in the cold. Steve and Bucky were seated on the couch, watching some old flick that they probably liked as teenagers.

I waved at them before retreating into my room quietly. After a long shower, I went downstairs to the kitchen to get something to eat before I was to clonk out in my bed. I walked in to see Tony looking at a cracked egg in confusion and then throwing the entire thing into a bowl.

"What are you doing?" I asked, knowing that whatever it is, he was doing it wrong. He looked up in shock, not knowing that I was there the entire time.

"Oh, I'm trying to make you food but I'm not exactly sure how to do that."

Why is this egghead making me food when he can't cook?

I smiled at his efforts. "Tony, you're not supposed to throw the shell in."

"Yeah I'm realizing that now." He laughed.

"It's okay, Tony," I lightly pushed him to the side. "I'll make the food and you can help."

I threw his tarnished egg in the trash and replaced it with a new one. Tony assisted me as I made eggs Benedict. Of course as we cooked, he did his incessant blabbering and flirting. I honestly thought it was cute, but I'd never tell him that.

"When are you gonna confess your undying love for me?" He asked with a smirk playing at his lips. I chuckled, not taking him serious at all. Tony is very egotistical and I honestly think he truly believes that I'm in love with him.

He's a handsome man, but he's a player. There's a new blonde coming out of his room every morning. Though he is attractive and I definitely have a crush, how stupid would I look if I took him seriously and gave into his charm?

I just happen to be the only woman who lives with him that he doesn't see as a sister, so I'm easy to flirt with. He's been this way since the day we defeated Loki and the Chitauri, aka the day we officially became Avengers.

"Tony, I am not in love with you." I giggled. "I just feel bad for you because you can't cook."

"You're hurting me, Y/n," he gripped his chest. "You're killing me."

After our small banter, we went and sat with Steve and Bucky. The movie they were watching was called The Birds and it definitely wasn't from their childhood seeing as they both "died" in the 40's and the movie came out in the 60's. It was a slow paced movie, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

Tony watched, but complained the entire time about the plot and how ridiculous it was. He'd look over to me for validation in which he did not receive.

After a while of watching, Tony got up to use the restroom. After he left, Steve turned off the tv and Bucky stood in front of me. I looked at him in confusion and then at Steve when he followed in his friend's footsteps.

"What are you waiting for to get with Tony?" Steve asked. I almost choked on my laughter and shock.

"I'm sorry, what?" I asked.

"He obviously has a crush on you," Bucky spoke. "And you obviously feel the same."

I stuttered into my sentence. "He- he does-s not have a crush on me! Are you joking?"

"All he does is flirt with you." Bucky rolled his eyes.

"He flirts with anything with a vagina."

"Yeah but after a few times of getting rejected, he moves on. He's not moved on from you since you've been here."

I sat for a moment and pondered over their words. Was there a possibility that Tony really did like me? I'd always ruled him out as flirting with me for joking purposes. What if it really wasn't like that?

"Why's the tv off?" Tony's voice broke me out of my stupor.

Steve and Bucky didn't say another word before exiting the living room all together. Tony walked over, confusion written all over his face.

"What happened to the ice brothers?" He asked as he sat next to me.

"Tony, I have feelings for you." I put all my cards out on the table and hoped for the best. I knew that if I didn't say it then, I'd never say it.

"Me?" He pointed at himself.

Is this really the dumbass I want to be with?

"I mean," he cleared his throat, "Yeah I feel the same."

"What?" I was shocked for the second time that day. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Why didn't you tell me?" He shot back.

"Good point." I narrowed my eyes.

"Alright well since we've finally established this, let's go on a date."

He stood and reached his hand out for me to take.

"What?" I asked for the second time. "Right now?"

"Yeah why not?"

"I'm not ready," I looked down at my tank top and pajama shorts. "I'm sure my hair is a mess."

"You're beautiful," he stood me up. "You look perfect."

I was about to protest before he landed a soft kiss upon my lips. It was only for a few seconds but it felt amazing. Yeah, this is definitely the dumbass I wanna be with.

And that was just enough for me to shut the fuck up and go with him.
