"Every day that goes by when I am without you...I miss you even more...and I look forward to the day I can see you once again" ~ a future book.
Before we start this story, the song above deserves some credit. It is called 'Dancing with your Ghost' by No Resolve. It gave me the idea for this story and it's an absolutely beautiful song. And some of you may even recognise it!

Enough from me now, time to read!

An old man had lost his wife a few months ago. Now he lives alone with his 3-year-old granddaughter.

He lights the fireplace, thinking of the day he first met his wife. A long time ago, he was at the local park when a fire had started because someone had left a lit cigarette. Amongst the smoke, someone, a lady, was calling for help. He followed the voice of the young lady who was surrounded by the burning logs and branches of the trees around her. He called out to her and helped her escape the fire.

She was in a critical state and he decided to stay with her at the hospital while she recovered. It wasn't long before he had fallen for her, as well as she had fallen for her saviour. After a couple of years, they married and had a family of their own.

He walked across the room to an old piano. His wife loved the melodies he would play for her. He lifted the covering and sat on the stool to play.

He remembers the way she would dance while he played, her gracefulness, her laughter, the way her cerulean blue eyes shimmered when she twirled in the sunlight. He remembers their wedding day when they danced together, all eyes on them, 2 lovers joined by the vows they had made to be by each other's side until the very end.

He smiled remembering their life together, as though she was gone, his memories of her will last forever...

Hey,
Lady Rose here.

Before you ask, yes I am working on a new story, however, it won't be out anytime soon. I'm not actually sure when I will write it. I've been busy with work, hoping to get into uni.

And some of you may have noticed, yes, this is a prologue to the short story about the old man and his granddaughter. That story and this one, you can think of them as extracts from the story I will hopefully be able to write one day as a full book.

Until that day, leave a like and comment to tell me what you thought of it.
Until next time,
Lady rose out~🌹
