-------------------------------------
Violet is mute. Ever since she was born, she was unable to make a sound. Not even a whisper. She was extremely shy and kept herself away from the other 'normal' people in her class.
That's what her mum told her. That everyone who could talk was a normal person. Which meant she wasn't. Which meant her mum wasn't, as she gave birth to a mute girl. Which meant her mum took her anger out on her. It's not her fault, but in the eyes of her mother, it is.
After her father had passed, her mother lost it. She reeked of alcohol and drugs. She smokes and looks like a living zombie. She goes from one job to another, and each time, after a few days, she gets sacked. She vents her frustration on Violet, calls her all sorts of names and accuses her of making her life difficult. It's not her fault, but in the eyes of her mother, it is.
After every slap, after each new scar, Violet hides in her room, locking it, and cries. She cries for her father's love, she cries for her scars that litter her face, hands, everywhere, and she cries for her old mother who used to comb her hair softly, sing soothing lullabies and love her dearly. That was before her father passed. Her mum blames that on her too. If she hadn't brought the flu home, her father wouldn't have caught it and died so early. It's not her fault, but in the eyes of her mother, it is.
Violet, after wiping the last of her tears, would draw. She would draw her feelings, her attacks, her broken family. She found herself a place on Instagram, under the name of 'little Miss V' and she uploads pictures of her artworks. She has many followers, many likes for each picture, and many supportive comments from people she doesn't even know yet care for her more than her own mother does.
Her mother once found her art book; she tore off every page used for a "doodle", calling Violet a disgrace and telling her that no one makes a living out of art. That she should be using her notebook for more serious things like her studies. That her "dream will only be a dream."
And Violet had never cried more than that night when her favourite art book was ruined and her dreams shattered beyond repair. She stopped using her Instagram, letting her followers know she would just be taking some time off, and began "studying".After a few weeks, her mother lost another job. And as it seemed, her mind as well. She went through an outburst and started to destroy random items around the house, first went the china doll, next went the pots and pans, and so on. She took her anger out on Violet again, smashing a wine bottle on the young girl's head and continued to stab her with the broken end until she passed out from exhaustion.
Violet was still awake, tears trickled down her vandalised face, blood still gushing out her head that had been cracked open. The last thing she heard was the sirens.

News reporter: A young girl, 14 years of age, has been found unconscious and bleeding due to serious child abuse by her own mother. The child is still unconscious but breathing and currently being treated in the hospital. However, the doctors are sceptical of her survival...
