Shai
I suddenly open my eyes and quickly sit up. Looking around, I see that I am in my bedroom. I look next to me, and see that Theo is asleep, on his stomach, with one of his arms going across my hips, and his other under his head. I slow my breathing, and lay back down, not wanting to wake Theo up.
My head is still sore, and my throat is killing me. I snuggle closer into Theo, and he moves his arm, so he is hugging me better. I try to close my eyes again, and go back to sleep, but it doesn’t work.
I end up staring at the celling for about thirty minutes before Theo wakes up.
“Hi,” he says, his voice full of sleep.
“Hi,” I whisper, my throat hurting when I talk.
“How are you feeling?” he asks, kissing my forehead. “Your temp as gone down, which is good.”
“My throat and head hurt like crazy,” I whisper.
“Are you hungry?”
Come to think of it, I am a little bit hungry. “Yeah, a little,”
“Okay, I’ll go and make you something,” he says, getting up.
“Wait.” I say, putting my hand on his arm to stop him. “I love you,” I say with a smile.
He smiles too. A big grin from ear to ear. “I love you more.” Theo gets up and goes to the kitchen to make me some food.

After about ten minutes, I get bored in bed, so I get up, put a robe and my ugg boots on, and walk to the kitchen.
“What are you doing out of bed?” Theo asks, coming over to me, and wrapping his hands around my body.
“I got bored,” I say, placing my hands on his chest.
“Shailene, you need to rest, baby. I don’t want you getting sicker,” Theo says.
I roll my eyes. “Theo, I got bored in bed. The only way I am going to get better is to go out and be active, not to lay around all day. I need fresh air and sunshine, not lights and bed rest,” I say, kind of angry.
“You need rest. You have been throwing your guts up all morning; you need rest Shai,” Theo states.
“No, Theo, I don’t. I don’t need anything except for some fresh air, fruit and exercise. I am fine. Do you not understand that?” I say, angrily.
“No, I don’t, because you have been sick, and I don’t want you to get worse, so I am trying to help you, and you are not listening,” his voice rising.
“Oh my gosh, Theo,” I say, removing myself from his arms. I walk upstairs, ignoring his calls, and go into my room. I shut the door, and walk into the bathroom with a sports bra and a pair of underwear, and get in the shower.
I take my time in the shower, partly because I don’t want to face Theo, and partly because I like the warm water hitting my back.
After about twenty minutes, I get out of the shower, and dry myself. I slip on my underwear, and my sports bra and walk out of the bathroom, drying my hair. I walk into my bedroom and get changed into black running shorts, a tank top and a grey hoodie. I pull on some socks and my bright neon pink runners, grab my head phones and phone and walk downstairs. I walk into the kitchen and I fill up my drink bottle.
“Shailene,” Theo states.
I ignore him, and screw the lid on my drink bottle. I walk to the fridge, and grab an apple, shut the door, and grab my keys and head towards the front door.
