Chapter 49 - I'm -- You're ?

Now, on with the FINAL CHAPTER:

Third Person POV:

Theo woke up to the sound of his wife dry heaving in the bathroom. He instantly got out of bed and walked over to her, holding her hair away from her face and lovingly rubbing her back.

"Are you okay, bubba?" he asked, concern laced his voice.

Shailene didn't speak, instead nodding her head and leaning back against the cool bathroom wall. She was only dressed in her underwear and the shirt Theo had worn the day before. Shai closed her eyes briefly, and when she opened them, Theo had a glass of water for her and a cool towel ready to be placed on the back of her neck.

She gladly took the glass and washed her mouth, spitting the water back out into the toilet before flushing it down. She then shut the toilet lid and sat on the covered toilet, leaning into Theo's side.

"That's the third day that's happened, Shai..." Theo stated. Theo absolutely hated when Shailene was sick. It was like he was sick as well. If Shai was in pain, then so was Theo. Whatever this sickness was, Theo was determined to go through it with Shailene, and never leave her side.

"I know. I have a doctors appointment today," Shai replied, wrapping her arms around Theo's hips, her hands resting on his butt. Her head was against his stomach and her eyes were closed.

Theo, still rubbing Shailene's back, bent down and pressed his lips to the crown of her head. "Come on, let's go back to bed." he whispered, pulling Shailene to stand up and then walking her back to bed. He grabbed the wet cloth off the basin and placed it on his wife's forehead, then got into bed and wrapped his arms around her, protecting her from harm.

"Hello Mrs. Taptiklis," the doctor said. He had thinning white hair, wrinkles and cute old-person glasses.

"Hi," Shailene beamed. "Shailene or Shai is fine, no need to be so formal," she laughed.

"Okay. What can I do for you today?" he asked.

Shailene hesitated for a moment, and then said, "I think I'm pregnant."

Theo hadn't come with her to the doctor, he had a meeting with is manager, Katie, and he had already cancelled three times. He had to go to this one, no matter how much he didn't want to.

"What makes you say that?" the doctor asked, typing away at his keyboard. He briefly looked at Shailene and then went back to typing.

"I've been throwing up for the past three-four days and I'm late on my period." she states.

"Hmm, okay. Well I'll just give you this to pee in for a sample of your urine and then we can have a blood test." The doctor gave her a clear container with a yellow screw-top lid. "Just pop down to the toilets down the hall and come back when you are finished. I'll send it off to the lap, along with the blood test that we'll do when you return," he smiled at her, and opened the door. "I'll be waiting here for you, just come right in."

Shailene took the container and went to the toilet down the hall from the doctor. She was so nervous about getting her results back that she didn't realise she was already finished her business. Screwing the lid back on the container, she washed her hands and then walked back to the doctor's office.
