I wake up with a pounding headache. The back of my head is killing me and I can’t remember anything form last night after Theo proposed. Did I get drunk?
I roll over in bed and find Theo is missing from his side of the bed. I get up slowly and make my way to the bathroom. I do my business and then make my way downstairs. Halfway down the stairs I hear Theo singing.
I seriously love it when Theo sings. He has the voice of an angle.
I walk down the rest of the stairs and into the kitchen. I find Theo with his back turned away from me. He has the radio going and is singling along to Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars.
Such a good song!
I stand in the doorway of the kitchen quietly, just listening to Theo sing.
“Oh, her eyes, her eyes make the stars look like they’re not shinin’. Her hair, her hair falls perfectly without her trying.”
I slowly and quietly walk up to Theo and wrap my arms around his waist and rest my head on his back as he sings. He turns around and pulls me into a slow dance position; my right hand is his left hand, his right arm on my lower back and my left hand on his shoulder. We softly sway around the kitchen. I look up at him and see him already looking down at me, smiling and singing to me softly.
“I know, I know, when I compliment her she won’t believe me. And it’s so, it’s so sad to think that she don’t see what I see. But every time she asks me, ‘do I look okay?” I say,” he sings.
When Theo sings, his eye brows pulls together and there is a cute wrinkle between them.
He sings the chorus before talking to me.
“Good morning. Good morning!” he says quietly.
“Good morning. What happened last night?” I ask.
“What do you remember?” he asks.
“I remember becoming your soon to be wife and that’s it.”
Theo scratches the back of his neck while I move my right hand to his shoulder. “Well…before I tell you, I want to kiss you first, okay?” He says.
He doesn’t give me a chance to reply because as soon as he says it, his lips are on mine. I kiss him back softly because too much movement hurts the back of my head.
When he pulls back, he lifts me up and sits me on the counter. I open my legs and he stand between them, his hands on my love handles.
“Shai, umm. Well, after I proposed we kissed at the park for a bit and then we came back here,” he says. “We started kissing and then I picked you up and walked you to the stairs. We confessed our feelings and how we hope to grow old with each other and have kids.” I smile at the thought of a mini Theo or a mini me. “I picked you up again and walked up stairs, and then when I got to the top, I fell and you landed on your back and I landed on you. You hit your head and the floor and you were bleeding so I took you to the hospital. They gave you morphine for the pain and stitched you up – the stitches are dissolvable so we don’t have to go back to get them removed. The morphine kind of made you drugged out and act weird,” he finished.
