Song » Acoustic by Billy Raffoul
Dinner, bowling, the movies, going to a jazz club, mini golf and visiting a museum. Those were the options Liv, Isabelle and Oliver could think off when Liv was planning a meet-up. The museum was scrapped, it was already too late to visit a museum around 7 o'clock, bowling and mini-golf were not Liv's favourite thing to do, to a jazz club was an option, and in combination with dinner, it was a great option.
But until Isabelle revealed there was a small concert in the park next to their village; the music park. Only the die-hard music fans knew about this place. There are often small performances of small, unknown, but good bands. This evening, there was a special guest: sing and songwriter Billy Raffoul. Under the music knowers, this was a big name.
Liv was sold, this was her meet-up. She had no idea if Lando would like this, but this had something to do with music: part of how they met. It may not be The Killers, but this would be amazing too - at least, she trusted Isabelle on that.
She had let Lando know it would begin at 19:30, made herself ready - what you can call 'ready', Liv went straight after the lunch to the location. It wasn't lunch anymore, more like: 'a day at a lunchroom'. She only refreshed her makeup and applied new perfume. Oliver and Isabelle told her she looked handsome, so she trusted them on that.
Lando parked his car and looked at himself in the mirror one last time before he got out of the car. The venue was new to him, he never had been here before, but it was popular; he saw a lot of people entering the park. A path was created with small candles on the side. It made him smile, this was something for Liv. He walked towards the entrance and observed the area.
He looked next to him when someone grabbed his wrist. His first reaction was shocked and defensive, but when he faced Liv, his lips curved into a smile. "Hey," he said.
"Hello," she said. "You walked passed me."
"Oh."
"It's okay," she smiled. "Are you ready to go inside?"
"I'm ready if you're ready." She nodded and walked towards the entrance. "There are a lot of couples."
Liv nodded. "Yeah, I figured."
This is her first time here, too, Lando thought. His smile softened when he felt her hand in his. He bit on the inside of his lip and kept looking straight forward. The leading path made room for the venue itself. It had something to do with music, he figured. There was a small stage back at the venue, surrounded by couches and pillows. Small lights and candles were placed between the seats, light cords with light bulbs were handing in the air. Food trucks were parked around the venue.
Liv parted her lips, and a smile grew on her lips. This is...amazing. "Holy moly," she let out. "Alrighty, do you want anything to drink or eat?" She looked at Lando.
"Water is fine."
"You sure?"
"Mwa, let's have a Fanta for the change," he changed his made.
She nodded. "I will get the drinks. Maybe you can find a good spot?" She asked him.
"Sure."
Liv let go of his hand and walked away. Gosh, I hope I won't get lost. Isabelle was right, after all, this was the fantastic spot for tonight. It didn't even start, but it was fantastic already. It looked like this was a set of a movie; it was perfect. It was so romantic. The lights, the venue, the decorations. And it wasn't even dark yet. Liv got a Fanta, an apple juice, water to share and a bag of crips. On her way to the seats, she let her eyes glide over the people. There weren't many people, but it was busy enough to lose someone.
Lando raised his arm. He had found a couch in the middle of the field with the best view on the stage. Liv's look crossed his, and she gave him a nod, to let him know she saw him. Since their last date, Lando couldn't wait to see her again. Even FaceTiming wasn't helping, he wanted to see her.
"Here you go," Liv said and gave him his ordered Fanta. "And I have a water to share and crips." She sat down next to him.
"Thank you," he said.
"But, Hungary, it was a pretty good race," she began. "But it could have been better?" She carefully looked at him with a careful look on her face.
"Yeah, I mean, I can't complain. Qualy was good; P7, but throughout the race, I dropped back to P9. At least I got two points, and Carlos got P5. But there are always things what could have been better during the race," he told her. "Why? Have you watched?"
Her eyes had a sparkle, and a shy smile played on her lips. "Yeah, I did." It made him proudly smile. "That dude from Red Bull, who got passed by Hamilton at the last part of the race, he should have won."
"You mean Max."
"Max, apparently, he had a good weekend and Hamilton wins a lot."
Lando smiled. "Yeah, I mean...yeah, I guess he does."
"But it is what it is," she breathed. "Winner or not, you should be proud of the work you delivered." A small smile played on her lips.
He parted his lips and looked her in the eyes. "Thanks, that's sweet of you."
Their eyes locked and they looked at each other for a few minutes before Lando looked at the stage because a man began to talk. Liv kept her eyes on Lando, he's attractive.
"Good evening everyone and welcome to tonight's show: Billy Raffoul, a sing and songwriter from Canada. Enjoy!"
While enjoying the music, Lando raised his arm and puts it behind Liv's back. This was the sign for Liv, to sit a little closer to Lando, and she let her head rest on his shoulder.
'Acoustic' was the last song Billy was playing. The voice of Billy was unique, it had something calming in it. It was pleasant to listen, it made you smile while listening to his voice, it gave you a warm feeling inside, it made you feel loved. It was peaceful to be there. The night had fallen. The lights were doing its job; the field was lightened up.
The song ended, and Billy looked around. "Thank you, thank you very much. My name is Billy Raffoul, and I wish you a nice evening!"
A smile spread out on Liv's face, and she clapped in her hands. More people around them started to cheer, something that made Billy smile. Liv looked up at Lando and saw him smiling as well.
"This is so magical," Lando said speechless and placed his chin against her forehead. "Thank you for taking me here."
"Hmm," she hummed. "I know. I had no idea it would be this amazing, honestly."
He smirked. "You had no idea what you planned?"
"I did," she confidently said. He raised his eyebrows. "Maybe I didn't?" A laugh rolled over his lips. "It firstly is always a surprise of the performer is good, in this case, he absolutely was. And my best friend recommended this place. I must say: why did I not know about this place because wauwsie, this is amazing."
"A place to remember," he said.
Liv sat up and straightened her back. The people around them didn't make an effort to move, they talked and had small touches of laughter. Liv licked her lips and ran her hand through her hair. Just when she turned her head to look at Lando again, she felt two soft lips on her lips. Her heart skipped a beat, and she froze.
