Song » Something like Olivia by John Mayer
Liv rubbed with her hand in her eye and let out a sigh, she still wasn't used to the time in Abu Dhabi. It was Wednesday, meaning she was almost a week in Abu Dhabi, but the time was still a struggle. It was eight in the morning, not that early, but for Liv it was. She looked in the mirror of the bathroom and grabbed her toothbrush.
"You look tired. We can wait for another hour if you want to," Lando said when he entered the bathroom.
"No, I just have to wake up," she murmured and brushed her teeth. Her eyes kept focusing on her own in the mirror, god I look awful in the morning.
Lando started to brush his teeth as well. "Are you going to wear that red dress?" He mumbled and looked at her via the mirror. She raised her eyebrows questionably. "The one you wore on Sunday, at the race. It looked good on you."
A smile curved on her lips and a warm touch appeared on her cheeks. "I will," she replied. She spat out the toothpaste and washed her face.
It was silence between Lando and Liv when they made themselves ready for the day. Lando was doing his hair, while Liv was doing her makeup and hair. Multiple yawns left her mouth; all I need is coffee. She changed her pj's into the red dress, it was a simple red dress with white strips, Liv thought it was cute when she bought it. And it turns out Lando liked the dress on her, that was making her happier when she got the dress on.
The race was terrific to watch Sunday. Liv was excited to see Lando race in real life and not via TV. The race turned out good, Lando finished on the eight place. It was a race with more nerves than Lando experienced ever before: it was the last race of the season, his family was watching in the garage and Liv was there. For a moment he was scared to crash or fuck it up, he was afraid to ridicule himself in front of them. He didn't care about his fans, team or the rest of the audience; he just couldn't screw it up in front of Liv. And it didn't happen luckily. Also, Liv finally understood why races and this sport is fun to watch. It was a long way to get to that point, but she made it. And watching Lando...she was proud of him. The past two days were all about testing for McLaren. Liv studied for her exams while Lando finished the last things on the car with his team.
After thirty minutes, the two young adults left the hotel. They decided to relax a few minutes more so they could wake up more properly and have a quick breakfast. Liv wanted to explore the shopping mall and buy some small souvenirs for her family and friends.
"It's odd to realise this will be the last day," Lando let out and grabbed Liv's hand.
"Hmm-hmm, yes," Liv hummed and a smile curved on her lips. "I enjoyed it a lot. I honestly don't want to go back."
He smirked. "Same, it's just so..."
"School-free," she said.
It made Lando look at Liv, and a smile was pressed on his lips. "That too, yeah. But it's just so perfect. I have you around me, the sun is shining, it's warm," he replied. "When is your exam?"
"Somewhere next week, I don't know," she answered. "Are you satisfied? With the results and this season overall?"
"Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I couldn't imagine a better first season. Of course, you hope to be champion or win a race, but there are people in this world with way more experience. I had no idea what to expect, but I'm delighted with everything," he responded and let his eyes glance over the streets of Abu Dhabi. "At least I got some points, not like George. That man was competition, like real competition in F2 and now not anymore," he smirked.
Liv licked her lips. "That poor boy, he deserves so much better," she commented. "I know business with Williams is poor lately, but he's a good driver. I grant him more points, at least one."
