The following days were hot, sunny and sweaty. The temperature reached its top: 35ºC. Liv didn't mind the heat, all she did was reading for the last couple of days, or swim. More lazy activities than active things. Laying on the couch, outside, in the shade and a good book. There wasn't more needed for Liv to celebrate her time off in Italy."Nonna," Liv called when she entered the kitchen. "Do you need help with anything?" She looked at her grandma, who was unpacking the groceries.
Her grandma looked at Liv and smiled. Liv was a copy of her father Giuseppe, the same cheekbones, eyebrows, nose and face structure. Liv was a real Di Costa. Jasper, on the other hand, had more features from their mother, Amelia.
"Don't you have to watch the race?" her grandma, Carmelina asked her curiously.
It was Sunday, meaning it was race day. The family gathered around in the backyard, placed a huge white screen in the garden and a projector. It was like a small cinema outside. Not to mention they had laptops to see the live on boards, all the live radios and the data. It was like they had their own team, own pit wall, and whatever it takes to be a team.
Liv looked outside. "Nah, it's not really my cup of tea. I think it is all too much how they are acting around it." She looked back at her grandma. "And I do not understand all those terms. I prefer to do other things around the race."
Her grandma smirked. "I agree. You can help me prepare the pizza dough and snacks."A smile spread out on Liv's lips and walked to the sink. It reminded her to send Lando a good luck text. She grabbed her phone and leant against the counter.
Liv: Hii, good luck today!! I heard it will be a tough one because of the rain, but I know you can do it!! :)
She didn't expect an answer back right away, he was already racing. But better 'late' than never.
"We do not use our phone for this recipe," Carmelina reminded her and looked unapproved at her grandchild. "It is not in the ingredients."
Liv pressed her lips into a thin line and looked innocent at her grandma. Her grandma was the kind of person who was anti electronica. The only thing she used was a television. She owned an old flip phone, and that was it. Her husband, Liv's grandpa, does have a mobile phone and a laptop for banking stuff, but he doesn't prefer to use it.
"Yes, I'm sorry. I had to wish someone good luck," Liv told her and laid her phone on the table.
"I do not care. Get the flower and tomatoes."
Liv loved how stubborn her grandma was. She washed her hands and grabbed the ingredients. "You the sauce and me the dough? Or you the dough and me the sauce?"
"Dough," Carmelina said and pointed at Liv. "That is your speciality for today. When you are ready with that, you can make the snacks and bring drinks to the race maniacs."
"Yes, ma'am," Liv teased and collected the rest of the ingredients; strong flour, salt, yeast and lukewarm water.
It was quiet between them. Grandma and granddaughter were focused on the food they were preparing. They could hear the rest of the family talking about Formula 1, and the dogs walking around in the house. Liv blew a piece of hair out of her face and kneaded the dough until it was perfect.
"How many pizza's?" Liv asked.
Her grandma took off her glasses and stood next to Liv, observing what she had made. "Hmm, we have six grandchildren, five parents and grandpa and me. If you did it right, there is enough for six. But first, bring some snacks and drinks."
