Song » Just the way you are by Billy Joel
Christmas Eve, it was still afternoon, so technically it was Christmas Afternoon, but everyone gets it is the day of Christmas Eve. The preparations in the home of the Di Costa family were going on schedule. Amelia was preparing some food, Jasper was vacuum cleaning the house, and Liv and Giuseppe were preparing the living room for many people of their family: three large tables were placed in the room, and it was Liv her job to decorate it as Christmassy as possible.
Lando leaned against the doorpost and looked at Liv. A smile curved on his lips, Liv was only focussing on decorating the table like it was a serious job. Lando knocked on the door what let to the living room and waited for her to notice him.
Liv looked satisfied at the table, it was looking perfect. She licked her lips and looked at the doors of the living room. A happy feeling went through her body when she saw Lando standing there with his hands in the pockets of his trousers. "Lando!" She walked towards him and wrapped her arms around him. "I didn't hear you coming in."
"Hey babe," he said and pressed a kiss on her cheek.
She pulled back and gave him a kiss. It felt like they hadn't seen each other for a few weeks, but it was only a few days. Liv let her eyes glance over him; he was wearing a white shirt with a black pullover over it and a black jeans. It looked incredible on him.
"You look handsome," she complimented him.
Lando looked down, looking at his own outfit. "Is it not too much?"
She frowned. "No, absolutely not, you look handsome, and it's perfect," she comforted him and smiled widely.
He smiled, satisfied. "That's good."
Giuseppe entered the living room and saw his daughter and her boyfriend reuniting with each other. "Good afternoon, Lando," he greeted Lando.
"Hello," Lando said back.
The father of Liv looked around and nodded, satisfied. "It looks amazing, Olaf. Are there enough plates and seats?"
Liv let go of Lando and turned to her father. "If the people are coming who said who was coming, then yes. We are with seventeen," she replied. "And Henky and Micky, but they can't be a part of the table gang." Liv couldn't wait to see the two dogs, she was excited to see them.
"Bellissimo, Olaf. Now, go change, your pj's is not really Christmassy," he replied and gave her a not. "They will be here in a few."
Liv looked down at her outfit; she was indeed still wearing her pj's, and she forgot it. She looked back at her father and noticed how he was already changed into a white shirt and a jeans with his fancy shoes. Her eyes glanced over Lando; time to change indeed.
"Yeah, I probably have to," she agreed and walked towards the stairs with Lando following her.
Giuseppe turned around. "Oh, and Lando?"
Both Lando and Liv turned around, facing Giuseppe with questionable looks on their faces.
"Next time when you are hungry, we have a kitchen what is filled with food and whatsoever, I assume you have that at your home as well," Giuseppe began and looked at both of them with a stern look in his eyes. "But don't eat the side of my daughter's neck, will you?"
Lando's eyes grew, and his heart skipped a beat, he froze. He looked at Liv and felt his cheeks warming up. Liv had a look on her face what showed that she was exposed. Lando looked back at Giuseppe.
"I'm joking, but next time: we have food in the kitchen," Giuseppe said again and widely smiled to make it more comfortable.
"Dad, fuck off," Liv said annoyedly and made her way to her room. She let out a sigh and shook her head. "He always has to act like an embarrassing father. I'm sorry about that."
