The two young adults were both blushing when it came to introducing Liv to his family. This was the first time Lando introduced a girl to his family, his first-ever almost girlfriend. Liv was holding Lando's hand and placed her free hand his arm. She was slightly hiding behind him because of the shyness.

"This is Liv," Lando introduced her to his family.

Five pair of eyes, probably more because of the people in the garage, were looking at Liv. She held in her breath and plastered a smile on her face: this is the part I forgot. Being social is not my best part. I'm awkward.

Lando's brain was going crazy: Liv isn't my girlfriend YET, how do I call her now? "She's the girl I have been seeing lately," he talked around the girlfriend-talk.

Oliver widely smiled. "I told you," he whispered to his sister Cisca. "This is the girl I have been telling you about."

Flo's eyes widened and looked at her brother. "The cafe girl?" Oliver nodded. "My goodness, she is pretty. Even prettier than I remembered her."

"Nice to meet you, Liv. I'm Adam, Lando's dad," a man introduced himself to Liv. He gave her a hand and smiled widely. His mum introduced herself after her husband, who got followed by Oliver, Flo and Cisca. "First time around the track?"

Liv swallowed hard and smiled. They were kind and open. "Yes, it is, actually," she answered "First time ever." They all nodded. Look, this is why I am awkward: I can't hold a conversation. It just stops right after my answer.

She got lucky this time because Lando was called by Jarv for the data. Liv looked at Lando, and he softly smiled.

"I will be back in a sec," he excused himself from his family and walked to the computer wall. He kept looking at Liv, who was trying her best to make a conversation. It was kinda cute, she was trying so hard.

"You work at Cafe Art, right?" Flo asked cheerfully. "As barista?"

Liv nodded. "Yes, I do."

"Then I recognise you right! I have been there a few times when you were working. I love the cafe and coffee," Flo continued. "And those pastries, heaven."

A small laugh rolled over Liv's lips. "That's sweet, thank you."

"What a surprise. He definitely didn't saw it coming," Adam said.

"Yeah, I do have my sources to keep it all secret," Liv said. "Aka the whole team. Carlos was the leader of this operation, as he likes to call it. He is eventually the smooth operator." It made the whole family laugh. "Brilliant bloke."

"He is," Oliver laughed.

For the whole evening, Liv spent their time with the family of Lando. They had a long chat about education, Lando, the upcoming race, the season and simple stuff like England and family. They watched the second practice together. Liv felt welcome in their family, she wasn't let out during the chats. And she didn't feel uncomfortable anymore. The family of Lando thought she was a nice, kind girl and saw why Lando fell for her. They were glad she made Lando happy, and they were sure he made her happy.

The afternoon ended with the twelfth place for Lando during the second practice. Carlos got P11. They were fine with the results, but it could have been better. They had better results. Luckily it was just a practice and not the race of Sunday. It was a whole new experience for Liv, she was impressed. For the last few months, she watched every race on TV, but this opened a whole new world for her.

Liv was sitting next to the pit wall with the view on both of the garages. She was watching how the team was preparing the cars for the night. A yawn left her mouth, and she looked down.
