Song » The Show Must Go On by Queen

"Ah, goodness," Liv groaned and closed her book. Her mother chopped an apple on the kitchen counter and looked at her daughter. "It's the Grand Prix weekend."

"So?"

"That means it will be busy at the cafe and guess who has to work? Friday and Sunday?" She threw her phone on the counter and placed both of her hands in her hair. "The cafe isn't even near the track, and still it is busy as shit on those weekends. All those fans. So many people."

"Darling," her mother said and passed her a piece of apple. "It's only Tuesday, and it means money, 200 per cent, on both days. But did I hear Jasper say you have your phone back?" Liv raised her eyebrows and took a bite of the apple piece. "And some kid named Lando Norris had your phone."

"It's all true, but why can't Jasper shut his mouth for one time? I wanted to tell you," she said while eating the apple. "What an ass."

Her mother cleaned the counter. "At least you got your phone back. What about the phone you had?"

Liv took a seat at the barstool. "It was his phone. They were swapped." Her mother nodded, impressed. "But it doesn't matter anymore. I got mine back and brought yours back to the workroom."

"Yes, I agree," her mother breath out. "I'm at work until three, dad until five and Jasper has an evening shift. Any ideas for dinner tonight?" She packed her bag and fixed her makeup quickly.

Liv blew up her cheeks, ideas for dinner tonight? "I don't know. Pasta?" She shook her head slowly. "I have no idea. The last lecture of this years is at one, so maybe I will come up with something before that time." It was eight in the morning, so she had five hours to come up with something. "Or ask dad."

"Think about it, okay? Good luck today, darling."

"Bye, mum."

Her mother left the kitchen. Liv sighed and stared at the sink. The last lecture of the year before the summer break. The well-deserved break. The last lecture was nonsense most of the time, it was more to finish the year with the people from your study. This time they said someone was giving a guest lesson; a guy from Microsoft. Studying marketing gave Liv a lot of opportunities to get to know people she looked up to.

She got up from the chair and made her way to her bedroom. Isabelle would pick her up around 12:30, meaning she needed to be ready at 12:15. Liv entered her room and let herself fall on her bed. Her body was still covered with her pj's, so going back to bed wasn't the worse action, maybe even the best option for now. She knew she wasn't able to sleep anymore because awake is awake in the morning. Liv moved her body under the blanket and grabbed the book she currently was reading in from the nightstand.

Liv turned the page of the book and saw '26' at the top of the page. She yawned and looked at her alarm clock: 12:01. Shit. The book was thrown on her bed, and she ran to her closet. She pulled out a short, grey skirt, a white t-shirt and a light brown blazer. White, low Vans were the finishing touch of the outfit. There was no time to pick jewellery, so she kept that away. She ran to the bathroom and brushed her hair, brushed her teeth and did her makeup. In a hurry, she ran downstairs, grabbed her bag and ran to the gate of the property.

"Sorry," Liv said when she got in the car. "Completely forgot the time."

Isabelle smirked and drove away. "You are still on time. The last one of this year, finally."

"Hmm-hmm."

"I can finally spend days and nights at Lorenzo without even thinking about the work I have to do."
