FENRIS

"... We have a very weird relationship, me and my brother. We might fight each other like enemies but would not let anyone come in the middle of our fight," says Alcina. I couldn't quite focus on her chattering about her brother and how her mother used to always favour her brother over her.

So far, I only know that she was sent here by her mother to keep an eye on my enemies, who I don't know about and the rest she says that she will reveal in front of my dad which leaves me with no other option than to let her accompany me to my pack.

"Are you listening to me, my lord?" she asks and I glare at her all the while maintaining my brisk pace. I do not like that she continues to address me that way even when I gave her the right to address me by my name.

"How can I not, when you have such a loud and whiny voice!" I mutter.

She suddenly stops and stomps a foot like a child which only makes me smile and continue on my trail. She then joins me by appearing out of nowhere and startling me.

"We witches do have some talents," she says with a sass and I shake my head at her childishness but do not verbally acknowledge her display of talent.

"Fine. Fine. Ignore me all you want. We will reach your pack in a few hours then I can reveal all the information in front of your Alpha and the beta," she says and I just grunt to acknowledge her statement.

"So, you say that you are my maternal cousin?" I ask her in the hope of knowing something about my birth mother who was apparently, a witch.

"Yes, Sir Fenris. Your mother was my mother's blood sister that makes us cousins. Your mom and mine were very close to each other and had a relationship similar to that of my brother and mine. Our family accepted the fact that she was your father's true soulmate and therefore, allowed her to break all the witchkind's rule to have a life with your father."

"What was she like?" I ask.

"Oh! I don't know. She died before I was born," she says with a hint of sadness.

"What is your age?" I ask her even when I know that it isn't an appropriate question.

"19."

"Okay. You said your brother is older than you then perhaps he knows about my mother or rather I can ask your mother about her," I say trying to hide my desperation to learn a few things about my real parents.

"I am afraid we cannot, at the moment. You first need to share your suspicions with your pack and then we might seek permission from your Alpha to visit with my coven," she says and with each word my expression darkens and her voices shakes a little more.

"Why in the hell would I need someone's permission to know about my true parents," I growl out trying to keep a hold of my temper.

She immediately backs away a few steps and bows down in a submissive stance, clearly frightened from my outburst.

"I apologise for the sudden outburst," I sigh and shake my head. She looks up at me with fear in her eyes and takes two tentative steps towards me.

"It is okay. Let's move," I say and start walking towards my pack.

"Goddess! That's Fenris. My boy has come back," exclaims Yuki as she engulfs me in a hug, shedding a few tears.

"Uhh Mom it is okay. I did not go forever, did I? I was going to return back home some time," I say embarrassed with the sudden display of emotions. This woman gave me life by accepting me into her family. I do not think what would have happened if she hadn't daringly accepted me as her own. I hug her fiercely to show my love, admiration and gratitude.
