Chapter 56: Fenris's Birthday.

It is Fenris's birthday tomorrow. Yes, I asked elder Raoul about his real birthday and found that it is on 2nd January which coincidentally was the same day on which he has celebrated his birthday till now.

I knock on the door of Alpha Conan's cabin hoping that he doesn't open the door, considering his bad opinion about me. Luck is by my side today as Connor opens the door and I quickly ask him for Tatiana. She comes down but appears quite sad.

"What's wrong?" I ask. She shakes her head and then walks out of the house saying bye to Connor. I do the same and we walk away from the house.

"Tell me," I urge now that we are out of hearing distance.

"Dad is against my mating with Zion. He thinks that I shouldn't mate a wolf who has no respect for his mate and was busy screwing around," she whispers and I see her eyes tearing up at the mention of Zion's earlier shenanigans.

"Don't worry. Did Zion ask for your dad's permission?" I ask her.

"He went to my father after Caliana's claiming ceremony but at that time dad insulted him and called him a not-good-enough for my daughter in very rude words. Since then the relationship between Mystic Shadow and Blue Moon has become dicey," she says as we walk farther away from the school. Ah! So that's why Zion didn't contact her.

"Don't worry Tatiana. I hope Alpha Conan will come back to his senses and then give Zion the permission to claim you," I offer my support to her. She only smiles and then shrugs.

"I think I might be pregnant," I say, hoping to distract her and it works when she squeals and then pulls in for a bone-crushing hug. This petite girl has a lot of strength.

"Easy, easy please. You are suffocating me, Tatiana," I gasp unable to control my giggles and then trying to breathe.

"Sorry, but it's a great news. Did you confirm it? Should we go to Caliana?" she asks and I shake my head.

"No, let's go to the human town. There I'll buy a few pregnancy kits, which I hope work on us, and I want to buy something for Fenris for his birthday," I say and she immediately lights up at the idea.

"Great. Fenris was never enthusiastic for his birthday but I hope this year would be different," she says and then wiggles her eyebrows at me. I blush at her insinuation but am happy to spend some quality time with her.

Out of nowhere, a male, springs up on us scaring me and Tatiana. Immediately we crouch and get into attacking position to see that it is none other than Connor, who's now leaning lazily against the tree in front of us.

"Where are you'll going, girls?" he drawls.

"We are just going out for some shopping," I say and walk ahead to pass by him. He shakes his head and falls in step behind us. I look at him questioningly but he just shrugs.

"Come on, brother. Surely you aren't interested to walk into a human town after your last experience with one?" Tatiana rolls her eyes at her brother but he just shrugs. I don't know what they are talking about but quickly conclude that Connor must have pissed off some human and therefore, must have been banned by them. I chuckle at the thought.

"As the Prince's best friend it's my duty to keep an eye on his mate. So here I am," exaggerates Connor, bowing down in front of me as if I am some other world's queen. I roll my eyes at his behaviour and start walking out of the woods.

Soon we arrive in the town called, Twilight Valley. It is the nearest town to the school and the one which we visit quite frequently.

"I need to find a medical store," I whisper and Connor immediately tenses up behind me. Tatiana shoots him a quizzical look but I just shrug. He has no right to judge me even if I am not claimed officially. If I'm pregnant I am going to be one happy she-wolf with an equally happy mate, I hope so.
