I finish off the rogue, not interested in playing the game of death and in a hurry to return back to Sierra. Her heat must have taken over by now.

In how many ways am I going to fuck up in caring for my mate?

First Xanthos ran away. Now, I directly ran into the rogues who were looking for a fight. As soon as they found out who I am, a few of the rogues turned back and ran in the opposite direction, to my home.

Knowing that they have gone to hurt Sierra in my absence, I work faster in making short work of killing the rogues and then run fast towards my mate.

Goddess! Sierra must be in so much pain and if the rogues reach first, they might hurt her more. Not at all liking the image forming in my mind, I run faster, ripping off the throat of the rogue. I almost relish the blood coating my fangs as I run to my mate.

Soon, the house comes into view and I see two rogues circling the house, two at the front door sniffing and I am damn sure that there are rogues on the backside of the house too.

Quickly, vanishing into the cold air, I make quick work of the two rogues at the door. Nora comes out of the house now as I am finishing off the rogues.

"Go behind that rogue. He will lead you to the rogue's cave. Get some information." Nora orders Calum who has followed her. He quickly follows running behind the rogue.

I look at her and open my mouth to ask her about Sierra when I hear her scream. Not wasting anytime, I quickly run up the stairs scenting her arousal and pain.

Opening the door, I am greeted with the sight of my mate pushing the rogue who's in the balcony. Why in the hell did she open the windows I don't know but I am too mesmerised by the fierce way she handles the rogue, not at all scared of him. All I scent from her emotions is pain, a lit bit of fear and a lot more of fury. Pure unadulterated fury of a female who's in heat and is disturbed by an outsider.

The rogue tries to grope her but she doesn't even flinch in pain at the touch, only because I can scent her pain, do I know that it hurt, otherwise she's keeping an exceptionally good rage filled face.

She punches the rogue and springs back from him when he attempts to pull her with him as he stumbles. She doesn't give the rogue time to recover and shifts in her beautiful grey wolf, clawing him in the throat.

I don't dare walk in between the fight. She would have my head for interrupting her fight and taking away her kill, so I just watch feeling immense pride at the way she deals with the skilled rogue. The sight makes me hard and so proud of my mate who is handling her own without shedding any of her blood.

The rogue shifts a second too slow and Sierra claws him right during mid-shift causing the rogue to slip of the edge and fall from the balcony. I run in time to see the rogue hitting the snow-covered ground and not even a second later, she jumps off the balcony landing straight on top of the rogue.

Not wanting to leave her unprotected from any other threat, I jump in behind her, bracing my knees for the impact and stand back with my hands in front of me, surrendering to my mate's glare.

She quickly delivers the killing bite and wipes her paws and snout on the snow and then looks at me paying no attention to the dead body. I now realise how much my mate has changed. Not a few months ago she sat after killing a rogue, scared of punishment but now she doesn't seem fazed at all.

Her wild eyes stare at me and I walk closer to her slowly, unthreateningly. She watches me and then sniffs before walking closer to me, rubbing her body over my legs and thighs, whimpering. Her adrenaline's now fading and from her scent, the heat is overtaking her body.
