SIERRA

Alcina and what I assume is her brother are already sitting in their chairs at the table in the kitchen, having dinner. His house is huge with a fireplace, keeping the house warm enough. The kitchen has a back door to the house. Even if it is his parents' the house looks well-maintained and has a few modern touches to it.

Distracting me from my observation, Fenris pulls me into the kitchen and introduces me to the siblings. Calum, Alcina's brother tips his chin in greeting and I offer a small smile all of a sudden nervous that these people know about my rejection and might hold a grudge against me.

"You don't need to fear anything, baby," my mate reassures in my ear, and then pulls me toward the table, pulling out a chair for me. I sit not knowing what else to do and I see that Alcina is observing me.

"Hi, how are you?" I initiate a conversation since she just keeps staring. As soon as she hears me, she startles and gives me a sheepish smile.

"Hi, princess. I am sorry was just thinking about something," she says cheerfully but I pause at the address. Is she mocking me or did she genuinely address me as "princess"?

Fenris comes back with a plate filled with kotlety and mashed potato on the side with a huge glass of water. He keeps the plate in front of me and goes back to grab his plate. The smell of food calls to me but Alcina's words keep ringing in my mind.

As if reading my mind, Fenris nudges me and says, "Alcina has a very bad habit of addressing me by my title and now I think that extends to you, being my mate."

Oh, I look at her and she just shrugs, swallowing before saying, "It is my honour to address you as a friend, my Lord."

I barely stifle my smile and look back at Fenris who is shaking his head. He then motions for me to eat and I quickly oblige, realising how hungry I am.

"Oh, great. You all are here," claps Nora as she walks into the kitchen with both the elders following her. I tense in my seat expecting elder Raoul to scold me for sneaking out of the school but he just smiles and takes a seat beside Alcina. Elder Fridolf sits beside him and Nora comes to sit beside me. Belatedly I realise that Fenris is sitting at the head of the table but he is behaving casually as if it is normal for him to sit there. This is when I notice how naturally dominant, he is and how easily he wields his dominance, subtly but powerfully, without threatening but successfully establishing his control over his surroundings.

I feel funny, like someone's watching me. I turn from my mate to look at elder Raoul who's staring at me, he has a knowing look on his face as if he knows what I am thinking. He smiles reassuringly and I return his smile with a small one before looking down at my plate and finishing off my dinner.

"Tell me, Sierra. How do you feel now?" asks Elder Fridolf after we all are done with our dinner. I don't feel like getting up since Fenris sat in his seat even after finishing his dinner.

"I feel fine now, elder," I reply, embarrassed about this heat thing. They all know what we have been doing the whole day upstairs in his room. From under the table I feel my mate's hand on my thighs and I look at him. He smiles reassuringly, squeezing my hand and I squeeze back, holding onto his hand as the elders look at me curiously.

"I had a talk with your mom, Sierra and she informed me that none of the females in your family have suffered from this symptom. The one where you hurt when someone else other than your mate touches you," says elder Raoul. I nod, feeling a bit afraid of this symptom.

"What do you think this is?" asks Fenris. He pulls my chair closer to his. Placing my hand from one of his to the other, he puts an arm on the back of my chair and I feel cocooned in his scent. I sigh in relief. The need has started building again and I am sweating beneath my clothes.
