FENRIS
What a terrible mate am I? Who would drug their mate after they shared their first kiss?
Me.
I am such a horrible mate to Sierra. I had to purposely keep a leash on my desire, not wanting to mark her. Her bare skin was enough temptation but her acceptance and initiative would have definitely ended up in her being marked by me.
"My Lord?" I don't respond.
"Fenris. We have shifted the body to the northern borders as per your instructions. It is safe for you to move now." Alcina whispers and I can scent her fear heavily in the air.
I snarl at her and she flinches, moving back a little. She is standing way too close to me and my mate. I look down at where she is resting in my arms. I run my fingers through her hair feeling the silkiness of it. She smells heavenly. I bend down towards her neck and sniff. Sierra's natural honeysuckle scent is now mixed with drugs. I stiffen when I smell the mixed scent.
Goddess! I drugged her. Fuck.
Buttoning my shirt, I put my hands under her upper back and knees and pick her up as I stand taking care that her head rests on my chest right on my mark. Another reminder that I am truly the royal heir. No other mate couple is able to have similar marks like these. They are proof enough that I am the prince and Sierra is my mate.
"Hide our scent." I order Alcina and start walking towards Sierra's dorm when Alcina nods.
"Uhh.. Fenris. The wounds from your earlier fight are visible now. I cannot hide them any longer with my spell," says Alcina. I turn to look at her and nod. Sierra will definitely not see them now and I don't care about anyone else who looks at these wounds.
I look down at Sierra again. She has tear stains on her cheeks but has a serene look on her face. She really has grown stronger than before. She killed the rogue with just a little help from me although I had expected her to scream and run.
It feels as if I saw her today after a year instead of a month. She seems to have changed physically as well as emotionally. She seemed quite happy during the ceremony but a little upset during dinner. I wonder if it was because she had to witness how happy Aztec was with his mate.
I wanted to stay away from her during this ceremony so that I could get back to my work without having to deal with the trauma caused by my mate but looks like she has an affinity to trouble. The rogue was an amateur for sure otherwise it wouldn't have decided to play with her. It would have just finished her off. I growl at the thought.
The fact that the rogue entered the school territory under everyone's nose rubs me the wrong way. My mate is no longer safe here but I can't even take her with me. She is not ready yet neither will she accept me that fast. She needs time and I'll be damned if I force her again.
Walking towards her dorm room, I notice that there is no one to stop me. I didn't run across anyone who would've questioned me about my intentions looking at an unconscious female in my arms. I shake my head at the negligence of the elders and walk.
"What in the hell are you doing here?" I ask Zion as he opens the door to Sierra's room. I look behind him to see a flushed Tatiana looking very sad. My temper flares.
"What did you do to her, you whore?" I yell at him not worrying about my volume since, Sierra is drugged to sleep.
"Calm down, will you? She's my mate. I just came to drop her off." Zion speaks but seems to be quite uncomfortable.
"You had to go all the way in her room to drop her off?" I snarl the question not believing him.
"Fenris. Please stop questioning him like that. He really is my mate and I gave him consent to enter my room." Tatiana says as she walks to stand behind her mate. Zion automatically pulls her behind him and lets his hand stay on her waist. The warning doesn't escape me but I don't like it one bit.
