SIERRA
"Fenris!" I scream, watching him fall back in the bed, unconscious. Frantically, I move my hand over his head, his cheeks, his neck and his chest but I can only feel the fine layer of sweat over his body. His body temperature is also at the normal level then what is wrong? Why did he faint?
Scared now about his well being but not actually knowing what's wrong with him, I get out of the bed as quickly as possible ignoring the slight ache in my back and legs, and pick up one of his t-shirts from the wardrobe before going to the nightstand.
Picking up his phone, I hope that it has elder Raoul's number. I open the screen and find it locked. Gahh! Now what? I try the emergency call and find Elder Raoul as his emergency contact. Thank the Goddess for emergency call settings.
Dialing his number, I put the phone to my ear, praying that he picks up even if its late at night.
"What is it, Fenris?" he answers at the fifth ring and I sigh in relief.
"Elder, it's me, Sierra. Fenris had a nightmare and then he woke up but within seconds he fainted. He is still unconscious. I didn't know what to do so I called you," I speak in a rush, looking at Fenris's still body, all the time.
"Don't panic, child. I will be there in a few minutes. I will knock 3 times on your door then and only then will you open it, okay? Keep the lights of your cabin off," he instructs and I nod, afraid about my mate's health.
Realizing that he cannot see me, I quickly agree to his instructions and then hang up.
Pulling on a pair of cotton pants, I tie up my hair on the top of my head and focus on Fenris. Being a werewolf has its perks. I can see clearly even in the dark. His face appears to be fine, no tension lines and no murmuring like he did when he was dreaming. My wolf cannot detect any fault in his breathing neither in his body temperature but then why is he so still. I keep a hand on his forehead and he stirs.
So suddenly, he sits up in the bed that I get scared and move back to land on my ass beside the bed.
"What are you doing down there, baby?" he asks groggily, sitting up and then looking around himself. I stare up at him in shock and then relief that he is fine but soon I feel helpless about this situation. I rush towards him, unable to stop trembling now. I don't ever want to see him like that.
"You fainted," I blurt unable to form any other response.
"I didn't faint. It is just my body's way of shutting down so that my memories come back. Little by little," he says but I don't understand anything and I start shaking my head.
"I sense someone approaching our cabin," he says and then picks me up so that we are both standing.
"I... I was scared when you fell back in the bed, unconscious so I called elder Raoul..." I am cut off mid-sentence.
"What? You called elder Raoul because I fell back in the bed?" he looks at me skeptically raising a brow at me. I smile embarrassingly but am saved from answering by the knock on the door.
"Let's go open the door now." He says and then holds my hand as we walk down the stairs and to the door.
Elder Raoul seems surprised that Fenris and I both open the door. I smile sheepishly at the Elder who looks at me, amused by my embarrassment.
"Your mate said that you fainted," asks elder Raoul, his eyes shining with mirth.
"I don't faint elder." Fenris growls lowly and I can't help but chuckle. He glares at me making me smile, and then allows the elder to enter the cabin. Nora follows behind him and only now do I see her. She always manages to surprise me or maybe it's her habit to spring up from nowhere. A black robe covers her tall and willowy form, her hair flowing behind her. Her brown eyes shine brightly as she smiles at me and then sits in the armchair.
