FENRIS

"You cannot go there, Fenris. Your mate's safe for the time being. Focus on Xanthos, he's dangerous to her," Alcina whispers behind me. I do not take my eyes off my mate, afraid that she'll vanish in the blink of an eye. I take a step back reluctantly, gritting my teeth to control my fangs from slipping free.

Xanthos's cruel and rough handling of my mate are driving me insane. I clench my fists; my wolf's constant rage is fuelling my anger and Sierra's fear and her scared eyes are tipping me off the edge. I can't keep the growls from slipping from my throat.

"Shall we start the fight? First one to submit, dies and the winner will be the King." Xanthos smirks and I want to do nothing else but to wipe off that shit-eating smirk off his face. He's going to pay for laying his filthy hands on my mate.

I shift into my wolf and in no time, we start the duel. I know at some point Xanthos will cheat but I wait patiently for him to make the first move. He doesn't make me wait long when he suddenly disappears from my grasp and lands a few feet away. I turn to look at the witch who's nodding at the rogue. Sierra is standing between her and another rogue. The rogue beside her is salivating with lust.

Fucking assholes! I move stealthily towards Xanthos to finish this off and then I am going to paddle sierra's ass for walking out of the school so late at night.

She put herself at risk by wandering through the forest without security and I am sure without informing anyone.

Xanthos swipes but misses only by an inch as I react fast and block his attack. The witch's chanting grows louder and I find it difficult to block off Xanthos's attacks. It seems that he's growing stronger. In no time, the rogue manages to give me deep wounds on my shoulders and hips. A particular deep wound in my hip starts burning and I lose my balance as Xanthos pounces on me, and I stumble. Fuck! Turning to look at Sierra, I just hope Alcina gets her out of here as soon as possible.

Goddess! I look at Alcina and signal her to trap the black witch. Thank the Goddess for Nora and her advices.

After the signal given, I lunge at Xanthos to attack him, forgetting my wounds. Only the thought of finishing off this piece of shit runs through my mind. I swipe my claws across his face, hard enough to push him back. Not giving him time to recover, I lunge at him and hit him straight on his shoulders, dislocating it. He isn't healing, confirming that Alcina did her work of distracting the black witch.

Good! I now move to attack him from the opposite side when I hear an agonised scream from my mate making me stop mid-attack and turn to look at her. Looking at the witch's smirk it is clear that the witch did something to her.

Sierra goes down on her knees, crying out in pain and I control my urge to go and protect her from whatever thing that's causing her pain but Xanthos catches me off guard, hitting my injured shoulder. That motherfucking son of a bitch!

Making my decision to finish this rogue first, I unleash my rage on him and attack him rapidly. Clawing and slashing at his shoulders and hips, I don't give him a chance to stand and continue with my beating. Suddenly, someone barrels into me from the sides pushing me off Xanthos. A sandy brown coloured rogue, the salivating one, comes to attack me and I temporarily shift my focus from Xanthos to this rogue and as predicted Xanthos's wolf runs away in to the dark forest leaving the witch and this rogue on their own. Coward!

The rogue moves in his attacking position and lunges at me. I block him mid-attack and swipe at his belly, his blood sprays all over me but I don't stop. Turning towards the rogue, I control the urge to kill him. We need answers and this rogue will be a good prisoner but first I will punish him for looking at Sierra. I claw at his face and spring back when his claws reach near my neck. Twisting mid-run, I turn to get hold of his hind limb and twist it hard, the rogue howls but I ignore it. Doing the same, to his other limb, the rogue finally loses consciousness and I stop attacking. I watch with satisfaction as the snow around him darkens with the blood.
