Storms' POV
"Alright Todoroki, give it a shot." I said. He inhaled shakily, lifting himself out of his wheelchair and onto his feet. I held his hand while he did so, making sure he didn't fall. The teen looked at me after he gained his balance. I nodded once, letting go. He stood there for a while before taking a step. And another. And another. I grinned so much, seeing his eyes light up. Once he was comfortable walking, he picked up the pace, trotting, jogging, sprinting, jumping. He laughed, running in circles. Seeing their friend up and about, Kirishima, Kaminari, Iida, Yaoyorozu, Midoriya and Uraraka all came rushing outside of their dorm building, smiling and congratulating him. They started a game of tag, which slowly expanded to both the entirety of classes 1-A and 1-B. I watched from the UA building's pathway, happy for the students. I hadn't seen them this carefree in a long, long time. Suddenly, Todoroki paused, looking back at me. He came running over, smashing into me for a hug. I hugged him back.
"Thank you so much." He whispered.
"You know I wouldn't give up until you were better." I said. He stepped away, looking over his shoulder again before running back to his classmates. I felt a familiar presence beside me.
Kayama had come outside along with my other colleagues and was happily watching the students as well. "You did good, Storms." She said. I smiled, dipping my head respectfully.
"Thank you. Hey, I almost forgot... is Takami ready to go for a test flight?" I asked. She shrugged.
"He said he needed a minute more and then he'd be out." My friend replied.
"Well he better hurry and get his ass out here, I'm not waiting around all day." I snorted.
"What about my ass?" Speaking of, the winged hero approached, leaving the building.
"Finally. You're late." I rolled my eyes.
"Fashionably." He winked.
"Whatever. Let's just get started." I said, changing into my snow leopard form. I spread my wings, flying a bit above everyone, high enough I wouldn't hit them but low enough they could hear me without me yelling.
"Alright. I want you to stretch out your wings a bit before meeting me here." I said, hovering. Takami did as told, stretching his wings out a few times. Once he was finished, he took off. I winced, his take off a bit shaky. But he figured it out, meeting me in the air. I nodded, flying higher. He followed. The two of us kept climbing higher and higher into the atmosphere until we were high above the ground below. Luckily, there were no clouds in the bright blue sky, and the breeze was strong enough to let Takami test his strength but weak enough not to knock him down. I flew forwards, doing a barrel roll. My friend did the same. We ended up in sync, flipping, diving, rolling, leaning one wing down to turn to the right, then the other way to turn to the left. Carefully, we both landed back where we started. I changed back into my human form. Takami looked at me, eagerness and excitement in his eyes.
There's that cocky look.
I smirked.
"You're good to go." I said. He put on his signature shit-eating grin, attempting to knock me over. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I stood steady, grabbing him under the arms and flinging him upwards. He flapped his wings to keep from hitting something.
"What the hell was that for?!" He whined, landing in front of me.
"You try to knock me over, I yeet you out of sight." I smirked, talking in a weird Italian-like accent. He blinked a few times before laughing. I began to laugh as well. It had been way too long since everyone was able to joke around like this.
