Storms' POV
"No, no, no! I told you, you're not going to get anywhere if you keep letting your emotions get the best of you in combat!" I growled, separating Bakugo and Iida again.
"What did I say about emotions?" I snapped. They looked at me frustratedly before responding.
"Fight by following your heart and the law. If you let your emotions cloud your judgement it will blind you with rage and you'll lose the battle." They both replied in sync. I nodded approvingly.
"If you can remember that now, I expect you to remember when you're battling, whether it be real or practice. Understood?" I glared.
"Yes sir."
"Good. Go take a break. You've worked hard today." I said. The two teens walked over to the door of the gym, grabbing their waters.
"You've done well getting them to remember that. Getting Bakugo especially to actually implement that will be a task I'm intrigued to see you complete." Aizawa said. I turned my attention towards him. He had asked to watch today's class.
"Tell me about it. It'll take some time but I know I'll get him to follow that rule." I sighed, stretching my arms above my head.
"Any idea how?" He asked.
"Nope. I find that finding my answers in the moment work best for that sort of thing." I replied. My colleague nodded.
"Smart. That's a skill not many can master because they can't focus on the task at hand and coming up with a response so quickly without being distracted. I admire that about you. You're quick on your feet and with your wits." Aizawa complimented me.
"Thank you." I dipped my head respectfully.
Suddenly, my phone started buzzing. I pulled it out of my pocket.
"Why is Takami calling me? He knows class doesn't end for another 10 minutes." I muttered.
"He must have a good reason for calling then. I'll take care of the students. Go answer." My colleague said.
I nodded, heading out of the gym. I stopped right outside as the door shut, answering my phone.
"What're you calling me for? You know gym doesn't end for another 10 minutes." I said.
"I know! I'm sorry! I just... I found something and I wasn't sure I was seeing things correctly so I went to check and I was right it was exactly what I thought it was and I freaked out and I didn't know what to do I thought it was a trap but it wasn't so I thought 'okay what can I do' and the first thing that came to mind was call you-"
"Takami, slow down! I can barely understand you! Breathe!" I instructed. He sounded panicked.
"Try telling me what's going on, but slowly, okay?" I said.
"I saw something, and I confirmed I wasn't seeing things. It wasn't a trap, I realized, which kind of put me at a loss. I didn't know what to do so I called you." He said shakily.
"Okay. Let's start with a simple question: is someone hurt?" I asked.
"Yes."
"Do they need immediate medical attention?"
"Yes."
"Do I need to bring Recovery Girl, or-"
"You can't!" He shouted. I held the phone away from myself due to the increase in volume.
"Why not? Is it too dangerous?"
"S-Sort of. Look, I think you can heal the injuries. But you need to get here quickly, and you can't let anyone know where you're going. No one can follow you." Takami said.
"Alright. I'll track you and be there in a moment." I hung up the phone, putting it back into my pocket. I changed into my winged snow leopard form, taking off. Luckily, one of the things the scientists had given me an increased scent-tracking ability so I could easily follow scent trials, even through rain and snow. I beat my wings, flying over and past UA property, eventually reaching the part of town where the abandoned buildings met used office buildings. I spotted Takami's red wings in the midst of the black, gray and brown colors beneath me. Carefully, I circled until I was at an angle I could lower myself to the ground. It shook beneath me as I landed, my paws meeting the cold, dirty concrete.
"Oh thank god you're here!" My friend turned around to face me. I noticed something he was trying to hide behind his good wing.
"What in gods name is that?!" I tried to see past him. The stench of fresh blood hit me, the strong tang of iron hanging in the air.
"That would be why I called you." He stepped to the side, revealing a familiar face. Barely familiar would be more correct. The person was mutilated in a way that it distorted their recognizable figures. They were injured horrifically, almost as bad as Todoroki and Shinso had been. I recoiled a little, picking up one of my paws and holding it in the air.
"How the hell..." My voice came out quieter than I had wanted it to.
"I don't know... look, I'm just as confused as you are, but we have to do something! We can't just stand here!" My friend said.
I regained my ability to properly think as he said that.
"Why should we? You know just as well as I do who this is! What makes you think we should do him a favor by saving his life? It's not like he's done anything to deserve it!" I snapped.
"I know! But don't we have a duty as heroes to save everyone, no matter who they are, if they are in need of help? Unless they're deliberately attacking civilians or a pro and it's to save said people, we can't just pick and choose who we want to save and protect! It's not like he's trying to hurt anyone right now and we're killing him to protect the victims!" Takami argued. I bared my teeth at him.
"It wasn't that long ago he did try to kill someone innocent." I snarled.
"Storms, I know you don't trust me very well, but I need you to right now. Please, save him. We can figure out what to do once he's able to speak for himself." My friend begged. I looked at him.
His eyes shone with emotions. I could tell he was right. I sighed.
"Fine." I stiffly walked over, using my ice to heal the injured person. They were still unconscious, probably from the blood loss.
"Thank you." Takami let out a breath of relief.
"Uh huh. Now what do you want me to do with an injured member of the League of Villains?" I questioned.
"I don't know. I didn't think that far ahead." He admitted. I snorted.
"Just what I thought." I growled, eyeing the unconscious villain.
"Whatever is going on, he better have a good reason for being injured like that."
