Hawks' POV
I woke up about midday the next day. Storms had been kind enough to let me stay on top of her since I fell over in my sleep.
"You really awake this time?" She laughed softly. I sat up, embarrassed.
"Y-Yeah. Sorry!" I sheepishly apologized. Storms shook her head.
"It's alright, don't worry." She said, standing up. I stretched and got up as well.
"I gotta go to the kitchen. You coming?" Storms asked. I nodded, following her. Our colleagues were chatting amongst each other as we approached.
"How are the students?" Storms immediately asked.
"They're well. They're inside now, they swam most of today." Aizawa said.
"Good. Oh. That reminds me. I should probably go fetch that thing's body so I can inspect it." Storms changed into her winged snow leopard form, running out of the house. I sat down on the couch, refusing to look at Dabi. I didn't want to apologize just yet. I wasn't calm enough to. So I waited until Storms returned. Eventually she did. My friend walked inside having changed back to her human form, shaking herself out.
"NOOOOOOO I JUST SWEEEEPT!!!" Mic dramatically collapsed to the ground.
"Get up, I'll fix it later. I want you all to come look at this bastard." She rolled her eyes. Everyone got up, following. As I exited the house, I blinked, adjusting to the bright sunlight. The carcass of whatever that monster was was lying in front of us. It still looked as fresh as it did when it was alive. Of course now, it was covered in wounds and missing a throat, but other than that it was fine. It's eyes hadn't changed, nor it's teeth. I swallowed the lump in my throat, slightly nauseous. I hadn't seen it up close before.
"Oh my god-" Midnight gasped, covering her mouth with her hands. All Might stared in disbelief. Mic took a step backwards, startled. Aizawa had frozen in place. Dabi quietly hung back, obviously afraid.
"I believe that this is the creature that tried to kill you and made your former colleagues to leave you for dead, no?" Storms looked at Dabi curiously, cocking her head to the side.
"Y-Yeah... that's the one..." He stuttered. Storms nodded, crouching down in front of the creature, staring right into its eyes. I felt my heart racing, knowing that if for some reason the carcass moved, I would have a heart attack. Unafraid, Storms unsheathed the claws on her right hand. She set her left hand on the thing's face, holding it in place. She used her right index finger's claw to make a slice in its head. Blood shot out of the wound, splattering everywhere, mostly on Storms. She spit out the bit that had gotten in her mouth.
"Seems like there was build up of bleeding in the brain that was putting pressure on the skull. When I opened it, the pressure caused it to explode, like a coke can when you shake it and then stab it with a knife." Storms explained, not turning around.
"Your claws can cut through bone?" Aizawa regained his composure.
"Yes." Storms simply replied. I watched as she cut the skull so the top completely came off. She reached past the brain, slicing something. She lifted the brain out, turning around to look at us.
"Now he's a no-brainer." She grinned, holding it out. Storms and her outfit were stained red from the blood. She had the red liquid dripping from her face onto the ground.
"Now is not the time for jokes!" All Might said.
"Are you sure that's a brain?" Aizawa asked. The organ was blackened and swollen. I noticed the front half seemed to be missing, or dented inwards, or deflated. I couldn't tell.
