Dabi's POV

It had been two weeks since Frostbite said she would talk to some people about me staying at UA. Somehow, she had gotten everyone to agree within a week. The second week was just me trying to heal. That freak that attacked the League had done some 'real shit' to my body, as Frostbite had blatantly put it. She spent a lot of time guarding me and glaring at me. It was kind of concerning. Didn't she have a job here?

I sighed, looking out the window. From where I was I could see the clearing at the back of the school.

Oh? Frostbite is actually out there for once?

I realized. She was in her winged snow leopard form and seemed to be scolding the students for something. When she was done, the students backed away. I saw that kid Bakugo charge at her from the front, Kaminari from the back. Frostbite jumped above them, shooting ice down at their heads. They collapsed, Bakugo breaking free of the ice. Kaminari slapped the ground. Frostbite released the ice around his head and he sulked off to the crowd. I guessed he had surrendered because she was suffocating him.

Bakugo tried again, managing to land a blow. Blood splattered out of a cut on Frostbite's leg. She covered her tail in ice, whipping around. It hit him square in the back. Bakugo bent backwards, knees hitting the ground hard. He fell to the side, still in a weird position.

Did she just BREAK HIS SPINE?!

I stared in shock as Frostbite looked down at the student, changing to her human form. She shook herself out, running out of view. The kid named Midoriya ran over to Bakugo's side, crouching down to his level. Bakugo growled at his classmate but didn't move. Within minutes Frostbite had returned, Recovery Girl following. Eraserhead ran over, skidding to a halt. He started flinging his arms around at Frostbite, who yelled back at him, ears flat against her head. Recovery Girl kissed Bakugo, who made a disgusted face as she did. When she finished, Frostbite walked over, kicking Bakugo in the stomach. He snapped back into a normal position, wobbly standing before trying to attack Frostbite again. Eraser used his Quirk on Bakugo, who angrily started stomping around. I couldn't help but laugh. It was funny as shit.

"What're you laughing at?" A familiar voice questioned. I was so distracted I hadn't even noticed Hawks come in. He was cautiously eyeing me from the doorway.

"Why does it matter to you?" I regained my usual attitude.

"Those are my students you're watching. If you're planning on hurting them and that's why you're laughing you can expect to be killed." He said, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall.

"You really think I'd be thinking that? No. I was laughing because I think Frostbite just broke Bakugo's back, based on what I just witnessed." I rolled my eyes. Hawks' eyes widened as he rushed over to the window.

"She WHAT?!"

I explained what I saw. Hawks groaned, face-palming.

"She's never gonna learn. She could have killed him!" He said.

"That's why snapping necks is such an efficient way of killing. Because the spinal cord is attached to the brain stem. She's very lucky she didn't injure his spinal cord." I said nonchalantly. Hawks glared at me.

"I'm just trying to join in the conversation. I already told Frostbite I gave up my villain life." I huffed.

"You may have, but that doesn't mean I trust you. Especially not after what you did to the four boys." Hawks retorted. The memories came flooding back.

"That's why you're trying to protect them so much right now, isn't it?" I asked. Hawks didn't answer.

"Because you left to come visit us, and since we were already working on something, we got to the students without a problem because you had left your post. You feel guilty." I said.

"It is my job as a hero and as a member of the UA staff to keep the students safe." Hawks replied, ignoring my words.

"Oh, don't act like that. We both know I'm right. It's why your wing is broken, isn't it?" I questioned. He paused, glancing over at me.

"Because Frostbite tried to rip it off?"

"That's not what happened!" Hawks raised his voice.

"Then tell me." I narrowed my eyes.

"She bruised my wing! I fell and caught it on a table! S-Frostbite would never try to take away someone's Quirk! Unlike someone we both know." He growled.

"I told you! Shigaraki is no longer an ally!" I snapped.

"How can we know that for sure?! You've manipulated so many in the past! It's not like I can just throw that all away!" Hawks flared his good wing a few times.

"You're not even giving me a chance!" I shouted.

"THEN TELL ME THE TRUTH! WHY ARE YOU REALLY HERE?!" Hawks yelled.

"BECAUSE I THINK I'M IN LOVE WITH FROSTBITE, AND I KNOW THERE'S NO WAY SHE'D LOVE ME BACK AS A VILLAIN! SO I'M WILLING TO GIVE IT UP AND CHANGE!" I spit out the truth before I could think about what I had just said. The two of us stared at each other in silent shock.

"Y-You.... what?" Hawks' voice came out as a whisper.

Anger bubbled in my chest. "You heard me, bird shit." I growled.

He started trembling. I felt my heartbeat start to pick up. "You gave it up because you fell in love with a good guy? You gave everything up to follow someone you don't even know anything about?" He asked.

"Yes." I glared.

"How DARE you?! You're giving up being a villain to take advantage of the nicest, strongest, most independent, selfless, and the bravest person I've ever met?!" Hawks raised his voice again.

"It sounds like you like her yourself." I stated.

"MAYBE I DO! BUT I WOULDN'T LIE TO HER! WHAT'RE YOU GONNA DO IF SHE REJECTS YOU? WILL YOU JUST DIVERT BACK TO YOUR OLD WAYS?!" He shouted.

"NO! I TOLD HER ANOTHER PART OF WHY I'M GIVING UP BEING A VILLAIN! IF SHE DOESN'T LOVE ME BACK, THEN SO BE IT! I WON'T BECOME A VILLAIN AGAIN JUST BECAUSE OF IT!" I clenched my fists.

"I WON'T LET YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HER FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL WANTS!"

"AND HOW'RE YOU GONNA DO THAT?"

"I'LL TELL HER HOW I FEEL."

"YOU SELFISH BASTARD! IF FROSTBITE REALLY IS THE KIND OF PERSON YOU MAKE HER OUT TO BE SHE WOULD NEVER LOVE SOMEONE LIKE YOU! YOU DON'T DESERVE HER! YOU DON'T DESERVE ANYONE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU LET STUDENTS GET HURT!" I insulted the hero. He fell quiet, good wing drooping. I watched as he quietly left, slamming the door shut behind him. A few minutes later Frostbite walked in.

"You saw me break Bakugo's back, huh?" She looked at me with a bored expression on her face.

Huh? Hawks didn't rat me out?

It took me a moment to process everything.

"I did. Did you do it on purpose? I curiously asked.

"HELL 'NAW!" She shouted in an accent I didn't recognize, the fur fluffing up on her tail and ears.

"I was trying to hit him back just enough to stun him but I guess I used a little too much force..." She grumbled.

"Probably."
