Hawks' POV
The beach trip had ended much faster than I had expected. I definitely felt better than I had on the first day. My leg was healing really well, thanks to Storms. Unfortunately, she hadn't left me alone afterwards.
You really shouldn't be complaining. This is sort of what you wanted, isn't it?
I asked myself. Part of why I felt better was because Storms had been so clingy- no, that wasn't the right word. Because Storms had been so attentive I felt better. She kept an eye on me the whole time, making sure that I wasn't faking my happiness.
She's so sweet... sometimes... and pretty... damnit, what're you thinking?
I scolded myself. Storms was only being like this because she was worried about my health. She wasn't trying to get close to me. She didn't have feelings for me.
Does she?
I was curious to know. I probably already knew the answer, but still. What if I was wrong? What if she did like me?
"Naw, that's not right!" I said aloud.
"What's not right?" Speak of the devil.
I jumped, startled. Storms had snuck up behind me as I was walking to the 1-A classroom to start my day.
"I was wondering if the vacation would have calmed Bakugo down. But I realized that's never gonna happen, y'know?" I lied.
Storms chuckled, her sharp teeth showing. "You're right about that. Partly, at least." She said.
"Partly? What do you mean?" I frowned, tilting my head to the side a little.
"I've seen him calm down. It usually happens when he and Kirishima are alone together." She smirked, walking by my side.
"Really? That's interesting. You think they're just good friends, or...?" I trailed off.
"Oh no. It's more than 'friends'. Trust me." She said.
"That's cute! Wait- if they only act like that when they're alone, how would you know?" I questioned. She paused, looking away.
"I might or might not be a little overprotective... and keep an eye on them whenever I can... and happen to have seen them like that..." She said.
I laughed. "You're terrible, you know that?"
"Am not!" She retorted, the fur fluffing out on her tail and ears.
"Yes you are!" I playfully argued.
She raised her hand, doing that 'blah blah blah' thing people do while mocking someone.
"Hey! Stop being so childish!" I grinned.
She grinned back, doing it again.
"You're being annoying!" I whined, trying to grab her hand. Storms dodged, and I barely avoided face-planting into the wall.
"Oh come on! That was a dirty move!" I complained, not serious about it.
"I fight dirty, Takami. Keep it in mind in case I ever end up being a villain." She smirked.
"You wouldn't!" I mock-gasped.
"No, but you ought to know." Storms shrugged. She checked her phone.
"Oh you're gonna be late for class. Better get going." My friend said.
"Oh crud! You're right! Thanks for chatting with me! See you later?" I asked, heading away.
"Sure thing."
————————
"Alright. That's it for today. Remember to ask Storms for new training techniques, those of you who need to get your grades back up. I expect you all to get rest for tomorrow." Aizawa sighed, letting the class out for the day. They grabbed their things and shuffled out the door, chatting amongst one another.
"So..." I turned to face my colleague as he spoke.
"Have you gotten any information on your wing? If it's going to heal?" He asked. I nodded.
"Storms said unless my body accepts the ice she used to hold my wing in place, since the flesh was damaged when it was torn off my back, that I might be flightless permanently." I admitted.
Aizawa looked at me a little more softly than he usually looked at people.
"I know Storms. She feels badly about what happened, and is determined to heal your wing. She's spending a lot of her free time working on something that'll fix your wing for good. Honestly, though, she's working too hard. Maybe you could go visit her so she'll give herself a break." He said.
I took in the information for a minute or two before responding. "That sounds like a good idea. Do you have anything in mind for us to do? I don't want to just go in there without a plan!" I grinned.
"Well, you're probably going to want to do something relaxing if you're going for a break from heavy work, so... maybe go for a walk in the park. Don't let her turn it into a competition. Walking only." Aizawa suggested. I nodded.
"I'll do that, then. Thank you." I smiled, heading outside of the UA dorms, where Storms usually was keeping an eye on the property in that area. My guess was on point. Some of the girls from 1-A and 1-B were eagerly chatting with Storms, who was in her snow leopard form. I edged closer to make sure I wasn't intruding. She flicked her tail, gesturing for me to come closer.
"You're really sure it'll work? Won't it hurt someone?" Kendo asked. Storms shook her head.
"As long as you practice it alone, with me watching obviously so you don't hurt yourself, you'll perfect the move and be able to use it without harming so much as a passing pigeon." She chuckled, unsheathing and sheathing her claws as she played with the grass.
"Then I'll be sure to work on it with you! Thank you Storms!" The 1-B student smiled, rushing back to her dorm. The rest of the students said hello to me and headed inside Heights Alliance. Storms turned her attention to me.
"What's up?" She asked, tilting her head to the side curiously, changing to her human form.
"I was wondering if you'd like to go to the park for a late night walk with me? Just a walk?" I offered.
"A walk, huh? What am I, a pet dog?" She asked. My eyes widened in shock.
"No! I didn't mean that! I'm so sorry!" I said, bowing apologetically.
"I'm just messing with you! It's fine!" Storms laughed. I felt my face flush from embarrassment.
"Oh." I muttered.
"I'll go with you. Do you need time or are you good to go?" She looked at me curiously.
"I'm good." I replied. Storms stood up, stepping over to my side.
"Then let's get out of here."
