Saturday 5:55 am

Rolling over on my side to my back, I feel a sharp pain starting from my back to the bottom of my stomach. I reach down and grab the covers and throw them off of me. "I'm hot."

"Deshawn," I call his name trying to wake him. "Deshawn."

"What," He moans in the pillow.

"I'm hot can you turn down the air."

He raises his head and looks over at me. It's still dark outside but it has to be close to daylight. "You're hot? Are you alright?" He asks.

Normally I'm really cold. I'm always buried under the covers. "Yeah I'm fine I'm just burning up."

He stands and heads to the hall. I hear when the air clicks on. I roll back to my side, I feel him get back in the bed as I dose back off.

Saturday at 7:07 am

"Oh shit," I shout as a sharp pain shoots from my back to the lower part of my stomach. Opening my eyes, I see its daylight now. Rolling over to my back, I see Deshawn is gone and that's not surprising.

Sitting up slowly, I yawn I look over to my left and see Savage laying in his bed watching me. "Morning boy. Are you ready to go outside?" He cocks his head to the side as if he's considering my words. I rock myself out of the bed and then head to the bathroom. When I come out from using the bathroom and taking care of my hygiene needs I grab my phone. The time says 7:12 am.

Walking to the kitchen, I open the back door and let Savage out. It's raining so I know he's going to be quick. Walking over to his bowl, I see that Deshawn has already filled them with water and food. He witnessed my attempt to pick the bowls up with my toes. Most days Savage will pick them up and pass me them. Walking to the fridge I feel another sharp pain in my back. "What the fuck," I think.

Picking up my phone, I call Nicole. "Hello," she whispers into the phone.

"Why are you whispering?"

"I'm at Wal-Mart trying to find Amaya a dress for church today. You know how much I hate being on my phone in stores."

"Why are you buying her a dress today...on the Sabbath?" I ask messing with her.

"Girl you almost made me curse you out on the Sabbath. I was so busy this week I didn't get a chance to buy her one and Wal-Mart is the only place that is open this early."

Laughing, I open my fridge and grab the bowl of pineapples I had cut up last night. "Well, I was calling you because I keep having this sharp pain in my back."

"Sharp pain? Is it a contraction?"

"I don't know that's why I'm calling you, genius." I smile.

"Lord please give me patients this Saturday morning. I know thou shall not kill, so Lord please wrap me in your arms and guide my thoughts this morning." I start laughing at her pray. "Ok. I'm back. How far are they Nicky?"

"I had one when I was sleep and it was still dark, one about 30 mins ago, and one right before I called you."

"Well that doesn't sound like contractions - maybe Braxton Hicks, but every time you have one check your time."

"Ok thanks, I will let you get back to your shopping."

"Call me if you need me."

We both hang up. Grabbing me a spoon and my pineapples I head to the living room and get on the couch.

Saturday 11:02 am

"Ok my contractions are like 30 minutes apart," I say to Nicole as I finish packing my bags.
